
According to information from Duy Nghia Commune Police, at around 11 p.m. on November 10, local people brought the python to the Commune Police headquarters to hand it over. After receiving it, the Commune Police carried out the required procedures and quickly contacted the authorities to handle the matter.
Pursuant to Circular No. 27/2025/TT-BNNMT dated June 24, 2025 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (old), the above individual was identified as a ground python (Python bivittatus, formerly Python molurus), belonging to group IIB, an endangered, precious, and rare forest animal.
On the morning of November 11, Duy Nghia Commune Police coordinated with the Economic Department and the Inter-Commune Forest Protection Department of Region III, Da Nang City to release a python back into the wild. The entire process was carried out safely, ensuring compliance with regulations on wildlife protection.
A representative of Duy Nghia Commune Police said that the people's proactive handing over of the rare python showed their awareness and responsibility in biodiversity conservation and compliance with the law on protecting rare and wild animals.
