Previously, at around 3:00 p.m. on April 25, local residents discovered an elderly man around 70 years old, showing signs of confusion, lost his way to Thanh Liet commune and reported it to Thanh Liet commune police.
After receiving the information, Thanh Liet Commune Police quickly took the old woman to the headquarters. At the same time, Lieutenant Colonel Truong Thi Lieu, Deputy Chief of Commune Police, directed the officers to post information and pictures of the old woman on community groups; social networking sites such as Zalo, Facebook and the commune radio station to find her family.

At the Thanh Liet Commune Police Station, after being encouraged by the officers, the old woman calmed down. She said that her name was Mai Thi Vien, her husband was Pham Hung, her son was Huan and her daughter-in-law was Van. After receiving the above information, the Thanh Liet Commune Police continued to share data to find relatives for her.
At around 6pm the same day, the daughter-in-law posted a message looking for her mother-in-law on the HH Linh Dam community group. At that time, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Son Hai, an officer of Thanh Liet Commune Police , contacted Mr. Pham Anh Huan (born in 1976, currently living in Hoang Liet Ward, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi), the old woman's son, and invited him to Thanh Liet Commune Police Headquarters to verify the information. Afterwards, Thanh Liet Commune Police handed over Mrs. Vien to her family.
On behalf of his family, Mr. Vien's son and daughter-in-law respectfully sent their thanks to Thanh Liet Commune Police.
