Following the official launch ceremony in Hanoi – which affirmed the historical foundation, legitimate value, and deep connection of the project with the People's Public Security sector – the Department of Public Security Communications and the People's Public Security Film Department, in collaboration with ThreeC Studio and Galaxy Studio, officially announced the launch of the feature film project "Indochina Code" in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is an opportunity for the producers to introduce "The Indochina Code" as a thrilling and entertaining film, featuring a star-studded cast and strong commercial potential.

The film is structured as a tense battle of wits on the Indochina chessboard of the 1960s. Instead of direct confrontation, the audience is led on a journey of following clues, unraveling identities, and predicting the dangerous moves of each character.

At the heart of the story is Tran Thang – a character who is both participating in the game and constantly being observed and challenged by various political forces. The film's appeal lies in the fact that viewers not only follow the plot but also participate in deciphering the story alongside the character: Who holds the advantage? Who is setting a trap? Which alliance is real, and which is a lie? And what move will Tran Thang choose to survive in a world where all information can be manipulated?

With its modern espionage storytelling style, "The Indochina Code" promises thrilling action sequences, sharp intellectual battles, profound psychological conflicts, and heightened emotions – a cinematic experience that is both entertaining and captivating from beginning to end.

At the event, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Nam Chung - Director of the People's Police Film Department - shared: "“The Indochina Code” is inspired by a select few among the 25,000 files of special intelligence officers, especially Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Thieu Gioc and police officer Quang Hai. These two are arguably exceptional figures in the field of intelligence. The film recreates a historical snapshot and a part of their lives, creating its own unique appeal and drama."

The topic of espionage is one of the most difficult subjects to work on, because the agents always operate in the gray areas, and their records and files are strictly confidential, making access to information very difficult. "The Indochina Code" is like the first step in bringing the topic of espionage to a mainstream audience after many years.

Following the sharing from the Director of the Police Film Department, director Tran Ka My said: "The topic of intelligence, especially intelligence in the history of the resistance war to protect the Fatherland, has always aroused people's curiosity, not only in Vietnam but also internationally. We spent a lot of time accessing files and historical materials to create the film's script. The pre-production of the film was also a challenge, as the story is set in the 1960s, and many scenes could not be recreated in their original form and had to be rebuilt or VFX technology applied. However, we still want to provide the best experience for the audience.”

The cast of the film includes many famous faces who have participated in popular film projects, such as Quang Tuan, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc, Tram Anh, Doan Quoc Dam, Huynh Dong, Luong Gia Huy, etc.

Initial revelations from the production team indicate that Quang Tuan will play a tall, dashing, and sophisticated man from the upper class, yet possessing many layers of identity and a deeply conflicted inner self. Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc will portray a refined, elegant woman with a regal bearing – a woman constantly torn between love and duty.

Doãn Quốc Đam plays a high-ranking intelligence officer: tough, shrewd, calculating, and always putting psychological pressure on those around him. Trâm Anh plays a mysterious female spy, sharp, strong, but also very fragile, with many layers of complex emotions. Huỳnh Đông plays a shrewd intelligence boss who values loyalty and is wholeheartedly devoted to his comrades. Lương Gia Huy will play a handsome crime boss…

As part of the event, the organizing committee officially launched the community campaign "Heroic Epic - 100,000 Students Tell the Stories of Unsung Heroes".

The campaign invites young people to create content ( videos , articles, podcasts, short films, etc.) about soldiers, intelligence agents, and those who silently dedicated themselves to the nation. With the support of universities in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region, the campaign aims for 100,000 pieces of student content, creating a significant community impact and aiming for a Guinness World Record.

This is a vibrant bridge between cinema, history, and the younger generation, helping young audiences approach the topic of espionage in a relatable, natural, and inspiring way.

The film is scheduled to be released on April 30, 2027.
