The Korean delegation was led by Mr. Choi Cheol-ho, Chairman of the Korean Electric Power Trade Union, along with Vice Chairmen of the union, Chairmen of the union of member power companies and representatives of professional departments. On the side of Vietnam Electricity Group, there were Mr. Pham Hong Phuong, Deputy General Director, and Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union Do Duc Hung, representatives of professional departments.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed the organization model, union activities, and experience in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of electricity workers.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union emphasized that the trend of digital transformation, the development of artificial intelligence and the need to shift energy towards green, clean and sustainable direction are having a profound impact on trade union activities. He also said that the development of trade union members is being adjusted to suit the industry's practices and the need for energy growth to serve socio -economic development.
The Deputy General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group provided preliminary information on the organization and operation of the group as a key state-owned enterprise in electricity production and distribution. After more than 71 years of establishment and development, Vietnam Electricity Group manages about 20 million customers nationwide.
The group's leaders emphasized that in addition to the task of supplying electricity, the group also carries out many important tasks, especially bringing electricity to rural, remote, border and island areas. The group has provided electricity to almost all households and invested heavily in power projects to improve the output and quality of electricity.

Regarding challenges, the Deputy General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group pointed out that the pressure to provide enough electricity for socio-economic development is very large, while emphasizing Vietnam's commitment at COP26 to reduce net emissions to zero by 2050. Therefore, developing clean energy sources such as wind power, solar power and nuclear power, along with investing in emission reduction technology at thermal power plants, is the key direction.
The Chairman of the Korean Electric Power Workers Union shared the history of the country's union formation since 1946, which currently represents nearly 18 million union members and includes 38 affiliated grassroots unions. He also presented the challenges and the current state of union activities in Korea.

Before the working session, the Korean delegation visited the Vietnam Electricity Traditional House, learning about the history and contributions of the Vietnam electricity industry to the industrialization and modernization of Vietnam.
