Hanoi Trade Union: Support 255 union members affected by storms and floods in 2025

The Hanoi City Labor Confederation (HLC) has deployed support for 255 union members and workers affected by storms and floods in 2025. This is a support campaign focusing on those most severely affected by storms and floods No. 10 and No. 11.

According to the City Labor Federation, the subjects considered for support include union members and workers working at units and enterprises in the area that have grassroots unions or pay union fees.

Cases of direct human loss such as death, injury requiring treatment at a medical facility, or housing loss such as house collapse, severe damage, blown-off roof, deep flooding are all eligible for support. The condition is that the worker must have legal residence or rent accommodation in wards and communes of Hanoi and have not received support from other trade union levels. Each case can only receive it once and if it falls under multiple categories, it will be resolved at the highest level.

By the end of October 2025, the City Labor Federation had supported 255 workers with VND 2,000,000/case, with a total cost of VND 510,000,000 taken from the City Labor Union's financial resources. The support was disbursed via direct transfer, ensuring publicity, transparency and compliance with regulations.

Along with the resources of the City Trade Union, the Hanoi Labor Federation also requested grassroots trade unions at enterprises and units to review and consider providing additional support for union members and workers whose houses in other provinces were damaged by storms and floods, using the grassroots trade union fund.

At the same time, trade unions at all levels coordinated with businesses and local authorities to visit, give gifts, and support necessities for disadvantaged workers, contributing to spreading the spirit of mutual love and support among the community of workers, civil servants, and laborers in the capital.
