This is the program "Free reproductive health check-ups, early cancer screening for workers; health care knowledge dissemination and free medicine distribution in 2026," for 700 female union members and workers in Hanoi's high-tech and industrial zones.

This meaningful activity, taking place amidst the vibrant atmosphere of Workers' Month 2026, further affirms the practical concern of the Hanoi Trade Union organization for the lives and health of workers.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Chairman of the Hanoi City Federation of Labor, said that the 2026 Workers' Month will be implemented with the theme "Vietnamese Workers: Innovation and Creativity, Enhancing Labor Productivity". This is not only a widespread political activity among workers, civil servants, and laborers, but also demonstrates the concern of the Trade Union, businesses, and the entire society for workers - the core force contributing to the development of the Capital and the country.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, with a strong focus on grassroots activities and prioritizing union members and workers, the Hanoi City Federation of Labor has implemented many practical activities in recent times, such as: organizing the launching ceremony for the Workers' Month and the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health; the "Thank You to the Workers" and "Trade Union Meal" programs; visiting and supporting workers in difficult circumstances, those who have suffered work accidents or occupational diseases; honoring "Outstanding Workers of the Capital" and exemplary individuals who study and follow President Ho Chi Minh's teachings; and launching a movement to promote creative labor and improve labor productivity in enterprises.

Efforts to improve the lives of workers are becoming more practical.

In particular, healthcare for union members and workers has always been a priority for trade unions at all levels in Hanoi, with extensive implementation efforts.

"Health is the most valuable asset of workers, a condition for working, taking care of their families, and maintaining a long-term commitment to the company. For female workers, reproductive health check-ups, screening, and early detection of cancer are even more practical and humane," Mr. Nguyen Van Thang emphasized.

From the very beginning of the program, hundreds of female workers were present to receive direct examinations, ultrasounds, reproductive health consultations, and early detection of dangerous diseases from obstetric specialists at Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. In addition to in-depth examinations, the female workers also received information on healthcare, prevention of occupational diseases, and protection of reproductive health, and were given free medication.

Ms. Can Thi Thom, born in 1986, from Phu Cat, currently working at Meiko Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd., expressed her joy at participating in the program. “The doctors were very attentive and thorough in their examinations, providing detailed advice to the workers. We are deeply moved by the Trade Union's concern and for providing free health check-ups right at the company,” Ms. Thom shared.

Also as part of the program, the Hanoi City Federation of Labor Unions presented gifts to 30 workers in difficult circumstances. Each gift included 1 million VND in cash and a bag of essential items, helping to encourage workers to overcome difficulties, feel secure in their work, and remain committed to the company.

According to the plan, in 2026, the Hanoi City Federation of Labor will continue to coordinate with hospitals and medical centers in the area to organize free health check-ups for approximately 10,000 union members and workers. In May alone, about 5,000 union members and workers received free health check-ups.

The practical and humane activities of the Hanoi Trade Union not only help workers improve their health awareness but also instill confidence and motivation in them, enabling them to work and produce with peace of mind, contributing to the sustainable development of businesses and Hanoi.
