The Muslim community in Tay Ninh lives a virtuous and moral life.

Currently, Tay Ninh province has 1,719 households with over 4,540 Cham people practicing Islam, accounting for approximately 0.2% of the province's total population. The Cham Muslims mainly reside in 10 clusters, with 8 areas concentrated around mosques and smaller prayer houses in the communes of Luong Hoa, Tan Thanh, Tan Phu, Tan Hoi, Thanh Binh, and Tan Ninh ward; the remainder live scattered in Suoi Ngo and Chau Thanh communes. The Cham people in Tay Ninh follow Sunni Islam, specifically the Safay sect.

Over the years, thanks to the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the material and spiritual lives of the Cham people practicing Islam in the province have gradually improved. In areas with large populations, the infrastructure system has been invested in comprehensively to serve production and daily life, especially rural transportation, irrigation, electricity, and schools. The people have gradually changed their production mindset, learning to apply scientific and technological advancements to agriculture , contributing to a more stable life.

The NuRul Iman Mosque was inaugurated in Tan Trung B hamlet, Tan Phu commune.

Along with economic development, education and training for the children of the Cham Muslim community has always been a priority for all levels and sectors. Currently, at the Provincial Ethnic Boarding School, Cham students are provided with opportunities to study from junior high school to high school.

From 2011 to the present, 116 Cham ethnic minority students have attended school. In addition, many have gone on to university, become teachers, medical assistants, nurses, etc., benefiting from all the government's policies supporting ethnic minorities. This has contributed to raising the educational level, encouraging children of the ethnic minority to attend school and pursue education while preserving their ethnic identity.

In particular, the Vietnamese-Cham bilingual education program has been maintained since 1998 at Tan Hung Primary School (Tan Phu commune). This program is of practical significance, contributing to both improving the quality of education and preserving the traditional language and writing system of the Cham people in the province.

Besides general education, the religious education needs of Cham children practicing Islam are also being met more effectively. Since 2014, the Tay Ninh Provincial Islamic Religious Education Center has offered numerous courses, attracting a large number of students from within and outside the province. The classes are well-organized, helping children understand and practice the religion correctly, reducing spontaneous religious activities, and contributing to the strengthening of unity and stability within the community.

Religious activities of the Muslim community in Tay Ninh are conducted in an orderly manner and in accordance with the law. The province currently has 7 Mosque Management Boards with 43 members, operating according to clear regulations. Mosques and smaller mosques are being built and renovated to become increasingly spacious and well-maintained, thanks to legitimate contributions from believers and support from organizations and individuals both domestically and internationally.

Major religious festivals such as Ramadan and the Sacrifice Festival are celebrated solemnly, safely, and in accordance with religious rituals, while also being linked to the dissemination of information and mobilization of believers to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws.

Assessing the religious activities and lives of the Muslim community in the province over the past period, the Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion, Truong Thi Phuong Thao, stated: “Under the guidance of the Provincial Representative Board of the Muslim Community, the Management Boards of mosques and smaller mosques, the Muslim people have always strictly adhered to the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws; living virtuous lives; actively engaging in labor, production, and economic development. The people have responded to and participated in movements and campaigns launched by the government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, and their lives have gradually improved.”

Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, Truong Thi Phuong Thao, presented a certificate of commendation from the Provincial People's Committee to the Representative Board of the Muslim community.

Over the past five years, the Muslim community in the province has organized many major religious activities, notably Ramadan and the Sacrifice ceremony; and inaugurated the Tay Ninh Provincial Islamic Catechetical Training Center. Many mosques in the province have been newly built or renovated, better meeting the religious needs of the people. Notably, in 2025, two mosques were inaugurated and put into operation in Tan Phu commune, namely Tan Trung A Mosque and Tan Trung B Mosque, contributing to the stability of the lives of believers in the locality.

Not only do the Muslim community in Tay Ninh abide by the law, but they also maintain close and strong relationships with the local government and organizations. They actively participate in movements launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the armed forces, such as building solidarity houses, participating in national defense and security training for religious communities, and maintaining security and order in residential areas. Their sense of civic responsibility has been enhanced, contributing to the creation of a stable and safe living environment.

“Every Friday noon, the community attends services at the mosque. Besides learning about the religion's doctrines, the religious leader conveys important information and reminders to the community. In addition, the police, border guards, and local women's union regularly cooperate with the religious leader to organize awareness campaigns on the Law on Public Order, Road Traffic Safety, drug prevention, and combating human trafficking… Through these activities, we raise our sense of civic responsibility and understand that a good family leads to a good society,” shared Mr. Cham Min, Head of the Representative Board of the Islamic Community in Tay Ninh.

Furthermore, the Muslim community in the province maintains friendly relations and solidarity with other religions in the area, such as Buddhism, Catholicism, Cao Dai, and Protestantism. In festivals, exchanges, and visits, the spirit of openness, respect, and non-discrimination is always emphasized, contributing to strengthening national unity.

The harmonious integration of Islamic teachings and national cultural traditions has enabled the Muslim community to live virtuous lives, uphold moral values, maintain unity, and integrate into society. As a result, they actively participate in building cultural life in their communities, contributing to maintaining security and order, and strengthening national unity.
