According to a special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, during a working trip to Malaysia, on the afternoon of September 16 local time, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife met with officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Malaysia.
Expressing his joy at visiting the beautiful country of Malaysia for the first time and being moved when visiting and meeting the Vietnamese community in Malaysia, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and National Assembly of Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent to all the people, officials and staff of the Embassy his sincere greetings, best wishes for health and warm feelings from home.
On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman conveyed the warm regards of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the Vietnamese community in Malaysia.
Informing people about the country's situation, the National Assembly Chairman said that after 40 years of Renovation, Vietnam has achieved many achievements in socio-economic development.
The size of the economy will reach about 500 billion USD, with an average income per capita of about 4,700 USD. In 2024 alone, Vietnam's economy will achieve an impressive growth rate of 7.09%, achieving and exceeding 15/15 targets.
In the first half of this year, despite the difficulties and challenges in the world and in the country, with the efforts of the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people, Vietnam still achieved a growth rate of about 7.52%, among the high growth groups in the region and the world. Vietnam is determined to achieve the growth target of 8.3-8.5% from now until the end of the year; striving to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party by 2030, Vietnam will be an upper middle-income country and by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country, Vietnam will be a high-income country.
The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the macro-economy is stable, inflation is controlled and growth is promoted. Along with that, social security is ensured; national defense and security are strengthened; the fight against corruption, waste and negativity is promoted; foreign affairs are enhanced.
In particular, attention has been paid to the building of the political system, focusing on streamlining the apparatus from the central to local levels, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency. The ultimate goal of the Party and State is to bring a prosperous and happy life to the people; improve the material and spiritual life of the people.
The National Assembly Chairman shared that recently, Vietnam successfully organized the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
Not only the people in the country but also the Vietnamese community around the world are looking forward to this important event. Recalling the heroic and exciting atmosphere on the occasion of National Day September 2, the image of people from all over the country pouring into Hanoi, even spreading mats on the streets all night to wait to watch the parade, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that this is a vivid proof of the patriotism and trust of the people.
The National Assembly Chairman assessed that the Vietnamese community abroad continues to grow, increasing in number and expanding in area with about 6 million people in more than 130 countries and territories.
The position and prestige of the overseas Vietnamese community in host societies continue to be consolidated and enhanced, becoming an important resource contributing to the country's development.
The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that the Party, State, Government and National Assembly always pay attention to the overseas Vietnamese community in general and the Vietnamese community in Malaysia in particular, considering the community an inseparable part, flesh and blood, and an important resource of the nation in the cause of national construction.
The National Assembly Chairman said that recently, the Politburo has issued many important resolutions on areas such as science and technology, international integration, private economic development, energy, education, public health care, etc., including many mechanisms and policies to create conditions for the overseas Vietnamese community to invest, produce, and do business in Vietnam, attracting overseas Vietnamese intellectuals to return home to contribute. The National Assembly also amended and supplemented many new regulations and policies for overseas Vietnamese such as the Law on Identity Cards, the Housing Law, the amended Land Law, etc. with provisions to ensure the rights of overseas Vietnamese people are the same as those of individuals in the country.

Praising the efforts of the Ambassador and the Embassy staff in overcoming difficulties and successfully completing the tasks assigned by the Party and State, the National Assembly Chairman asked the Embassy staff to continue to well implement the Party and State's foreign policies and guidelines; strengthen connections with the host country, contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Appreciating the people for building a strong community, overcoming difficulties, and establishing prosperous businesses, the National Assembly Chairman hopes that the Vietnamese community in Malaysia will actively produce and do business; comply with local laws, contribute to preserving and promoting the image and reputation of Vietnam; promote the teaching of Vietnamese language and culture to preserve the national cultural identity; and have more practical activities towards the country.
Previously, reporting to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the working delegation, Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Dinh Ngoc Linh said that there are currently about 40,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Malaysia.
Although still young, the community is very close-knit, hard-working, has a spirit of mutual love and support, helps each other in life, complies with the laws of the host country; always maintains patriotism, national pride, and looks towards the homeland...
The Vietnamese community in Malaysia has been actively contributing to the socio-economic development of Malaysia, and is an important bridge promoting cooperation, trade and investment between the two countries.
Expressing his honor to welcome the National Assembly Chairman and his wife along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, Ambassador Dinh Ngoc Linh emphasized that this is an important milestone and a great source of spiritual encouragement for the Vietnamese community in Malaysia.
Speaking at the meeting, representatives of the Vietnamese community and businesses in Malaysia expressed their joy at the achievements in socio-economic development, the country's increasingly enhanced position and image; and were moved and full of pride when watching the images of the parade and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 at the historic Ba Dinh Square.
The Vietnamese community in Malaysia believes that under the correct leadership of the Party and State, the country will continue to develop strongly.
People hope that the Party and State will continue to pay attention to the overseas Vietnamese community in general and Malaysia in particular; have more effective connection methods so that Vietnamese people around the world, including Malaysia, can connect with each other and with the country, creating a combined strength, contributing intelligence, experience and resources to the country's development; connecting cultures and establishing Vietnamese language teaching centers in Malaysia.../.
