Netflix has its first footage made with AI
According to CNET , Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos said that The Eternaut, an Argentine sci-fi film, used AI to create the final scene. In the scene of the collapsed building in Buenos Aires (the capital of Argentina), Netflix's technology team worked with filmmakers to create the footage from AI.
Netflix's head revealed that this is the first time they have used AI to generate footage in any TV show or movie they have produced. "We believe AI represents a great opportunity to help creators make better movies and series, not just cheaper," said Sarandos.

Netflix's director said the film's budget would never have allowed for such shots to be created using traditional tools and processes. The production time was also 10 times faster than conventional methods.
Many filmmakers now use AI to pre-visualize and plan shoots, as well as for visual effects like de-aging characters. The company also plans to continue expanding its use of AI to continually improve recommendations and other features for subscribers.
Google spends heavily on clean energy
Google said it has signed a $3 billion deal to buy 3 gigawatts (GW) of hydropower from Brookfield Asset Management, including 20-year power purchase agreements, sourced from two hydropower plants in Pennsylvania. This is the world's largest clean energy deal ever between a company and a power supplier. Brookfield Asset Management specializes in developing and operating renewable energy plants.
According to the announcement, two hydroelectric plants in Pennsylvania included in the agreement will be upgraded and re-licensed to meet new efficiency and environmental standards.

The move comes as major tech companies are accelerating the construction of data centers to support artificial intelligence and cloud computing platforms, which consume huge amounts of electricity. In addition to the record $3 billion hydroelectric deal, Google will continue to invest $25 billion in building data centers in Pennsylvania and neighboring states over the next two years, according to Semafor .
According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), demand from AI has pushed electricity consumption in the US to a record high, marking a major shift after nearly two decades of stagnant growth in electricity.
Ruth Porat, president and chief investment officer of Google parent company Alphabet, is expected to present the energy deal at an artificial intelligence (AI) summit in Pittsburgh, which is expected to be attended by US President Donald Trump and will announce up to $70 billion in investments related to AI and energy.
Connecting innovation from AI to smart factories
FPT Smart Cloud and Startup Island TAIWAN have recently signed an official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate the integration of AI solutions from Taiwan (China) into the Vietnamese business ecosystem. This initiative aims to shorten the testing time (PoC), promote practical implementation and long-term scale expansion, through connecting the technological strengths of both sides.

Startup Island Taiwan and FPT Smart Cloud signed to promote cooperation in developing AI programs for the ecosystems of the two countries.
The event within the framework of the Vietnam - Taiwan Tech Solution Day 2025 program was organized as an important platform to introduce AI technologies that are ready to deploy, attract investment and expand innovation cooperation between the two ecosystems of Vietnam - Taiwan (China), gathering more than 30 representatives including technology startups, investors, business leaders and government agencies, to enhance technology cooperation and investment in the Southeast Asian region.
The application of AI to modernize factories step by step in the short to long term is a focus of discussion.
