AI technology helps Hanoi's traffic run smoothly to serve the 14th National Congress.

During the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, ensuring traffic order and safety in the capital city was given the highest priority, with the requirement to prevent any unexpected incidents or disruptions, even for a short period. Based on this, the Hanoi Police implemented a comprehensive range of modern solutions, most notably the application of an artificial intelligence-based camera system to activate a "green wave" for escorting and protecting delegations.

With the task of ensuring traffic order and safety throughout the duration of the Congress, the Hanoi Traffic Control Center plays the role of the "brain" commanding the operation. Through the AI camera system installed on key traffic routes and arteries, the Center organizes traffic management scientifically and flexibly, maintaining constant communication with traffic police officers on duty in the field, promptly detecting and handling emerging situations, and preventing traffic congestion.

Hanoi's traffic control center monitors traffic conditions in real time through an artificial intelligence-powered camera system.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Pham Quang Minh, Deputy Head of the Hanoi Traffic Command and Traffic Signal Control Team, the Traffic Control Center proactively developed detailed operational scenarios for each time slot and route, closely following the schedules of the delegations.

The focus is on effectively utilizing the artificial intelligence-based camera system to monitor traffic conditions in real time, quickly identify vehicle density and congestion hotspots, and proactively adjust traffic flow and organization plans accordingly.

Centralized and synchronized management using technology has helped minimize conflicts at major intersections, keeping traffic flow stable and smooth, even during peak hours serving the Congress.

A particular highlight in ensuring security and safety for the 14th National Congress was the activation of the "green wave" system to escort and protect delegations. Lieutenant Colonel Pham Quang Minh stated that the Traffic Control Center integrated data from AI cameras with the intelligent traffic signal system.

As the traffic police escort vehicles move, the system will identify them from a distance; as soon as the convoy is correctly identified according to the approved plan, the control center will automatically adjust the traffic lights along the entire route to a green priority state, creating a smooth "traffic corridor," ensuring the convoy moves along the correct route, on time, and with absolute safety.

This solution allows traffic police to be completely proactive in escorting convoys, significantly reducing the need for manual traffic control at each intersection, while simultaneously improving accuracy and safety in traffic management. For overall traffic flow management, the AI-powered camera system helps to minimize localized congestion, reduce the workload for officers, and enhance the efficiency of urban traffic management.

Not only does it effectively serve a particularly important political task, the flexible combination of smart traffic lights and direct traffic police signals also creates clarity and consistency for road users. When traffic regulation is carried out clearly and easily understood, people are more likely to comply, contributing to their own safety and cooperating with law enforcement in carrying out their duties.

The "green wave" initiative was consistently maintained along the routes, with the youth union activities proceeding according to plan.

On the morning of January 20th, to ensure absolute safety for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Hanoi Police mobilized maximum forces with the highest sense of responsibility and discipline. On the streets, the image of convoys of delegates moving orderly and smoothly through intersections thanks to the synchronized activation of the "green wave" left a clear impression of a civilized and modern capital city. Simultaneously, the close coordination between forces, along with dedicated support and guidance for the people, ensured that daily life and travel continued normally and safely throughout the Congress.

The deployment of an AI-powered camera system to activate a "green wave" for escorting delegations at the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam is considered a significant step forward in current traffic management. This is not only an effective solution for a particularly important political event, but also clear evidence of the direction towards applying high technology and digital transformation in urban traffic management, aiming to build a safe, smooth-running, modern, and people-friendly capital city.
