Sharing with the media about this return, Cong Phuong said he was not too surprised to be called back to the Vietnamese national team.
“That’s not really surprising. I think that as a football player, when you are called up to the national team, everyone is happy. I myself will try my best. No player is certain to be called up to the national team. When you show your performance, the coach will choose you, and everything depends on the coach’s tactics.”
Talking about how to maintain his form when he didn’t get to play much in Japan, Cong Phuong said: “I don’t think it was really a difficult time because it was a very developed environment for me to try and learn. I saw good things and learned a lot. There, the training was also very intense and there were also friendly matches of the club.”
Sharing about the confrontation with Indonesia, Cong Phuong believes that the Vietnamese team will find a reasonable strategy to defeat the team from the archipelago. “In Phuong’s opinion, every football country is developing, not just Vietnam. Facing the Indonesian team is very difficult at the moment, so we have to look at the opponent, I believe the coaching staff will find a strategy to defeat them.”
