Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's steel company increases capital, appoints leaders

(Dan Tri) - VinMetal, the newly established steel company of Vingroup, has just recorded major changes in personnel and charter capital.

VinMetal Production and Trading Joint Stock Company has just announced changes to its business registration on November 13.

Specifically, after changing the registration, VinMetal's total charter capital reached 15,000 billion VND, an increase of 5,000 billion VND compared to when it was first established. All capital is from private sources, 100% contributed in cash.

Although newly established, VinMetal's capital has surpassed many long-standing names in the industry such as Hoa Sen, Nam Kim, VNSteel... but is still lower than Hoa Phat and Formosa Ha Tinh.

In addition to the capital increase, VinMetal also appointed Mr. Do Tien Si as the company's General Director. Mr. Si has been associated with the Vietnamese steel industry for more than 30 years. He is still the Vice Chairman and General Director of Pomina Steel. In addition, he is also an independent member of the Board of Directors of Mobile World Investment.

Regarding the shareholder structure, Vingroup owns 98% of VinMetal's capital. The two remaining founding shareholders are Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh and Mr. Pham Nhat Minh Hoang, each contributing 1% of the capital.

In early October, Vingroup announced the establishment of VinMetal, with the goal of building a high-tech industrial steel production complex with a capacity of about 5 million tons/year in phase 1, in Vung Ang, Ha Tinh.

The company focuses on civil steel lines in construction, hot-rolled coil steel (HRC) and special alloy steel for electric vehicle production and high-speed traffic infrastructure.

According to the enterprise, the establishment of a steel production company is primarily to supply material needs for the core areas of the enterprise such as real estate, electric vehicles...

The group also aims to proactively supply high-quality steel for industrial, energy and transportation projects that are being researched and proposed for construction, including the North-South high-speed railway, the Ho Chi Minh City - Can Gio route and the Hanoi - Quang Ninh route.
