On November 18, the Traffic Police Department (PC08, Ho Chi Minh City Police) announced that VNeTraffic is an official application built by the Ministry of Public Security to help people manage all traffic-related information right on their smartphones.

The application helps each citizen look up, track, and perform procedures quickly and accurately, minimizing paperwork and travel time.

People can easily register for an account through their citizen identification card and perform operations on smartphones using Android or iOS operating systems.

What are the benefits of VNeTraffic?

According to Traffic Police , VNeTraffic is an application that integrates many outstanding utilities, users can access many important features such as:

• Look up traffic violations (cold fines), violation history, official violation notices from traffic police;
• Electronic traffic document wallet includes: driver's license, vehicle registration, civil insurance, inspection certificate;
• Track vehicle registration status, auction license plates, insurance information, inspection status;
• Pay fines online without having to go directly to the authorities;
• Receive traffic warnings and notifications from traffic police.

All are integrated in a single application, convenient, easy to use, receive official notifications from traffic police, limit fraud via fake messages and links.

According to Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police, if people do not install and download the VNeTraffic application, they may encounter some difficulties such as:

• Not knowing the car has been sold but still having the name on it leads to legal responsibility when a violation occurs;
• Not being updated promptly with information on fines or requests for handling violations;
• Easily lured by fake traffic police websites/messages leading to potential fraud risks.

Therefore, to make the most of the facilities that the Ministry of Public Security has built, each citizen should:

• Install VNeTraffic application;
• Use electronic paper wallets instead of paper copies in appropriate situations;
• Follow official announcements from traffic police to avoid being taken advantage of and scammed.

How to link VNeTraffic account with VNeID account

Recently, the Traffic Police Department also provided instructions on how to link VNeTraffic accounts with VNeID for people's convenience. Accordingly, the necessary condition for linking accounts is that the phone has downloaded and updated the latest version of VNeTraffic and VNeID applications. The citizen's VNeID account is at identification level 2.

The way to link is as follows, first, people log in via VNeID

1. Citizens choose to log in with "electronic identification account";
2. Enter account information and password to log in to VNeID;
3. Citizens agree to the information sharing content, click "confirm sharing";
4. Citizens enter VNeID passcode to confirm;
5. If the citizen has created a VNeTraffic account, the account will be automatically upgraded to level 2 and successfully log in to VNeTraffic;
6. If citizens have not created a VNeTraffic account, citizens need to enter information to register for an account;
7. Set password;
8. Successfully registered VNeTraffic level 2 account.

Method 2, authenticate VNeID via notification:

1. Level 1 citizens log in to VNeTraffic account;
2. Citizens choose to view the following functions: document wallet; violation history; traffic violation notification; administrative violation notification; administrative penalty decision notification; notification of new issuance, exchange, re-issuance of driving license, vehicle registration;
3. Select "authenticate now" or "confirm", the application will connect to VNeID to authenticate citizen information;
4. Enter account information and password to log in to VNeID;
5. Agree with the information sharing content, click "confirm sharing";
6. Enter VNeID passcode to confirm;
7. Confirm data sharing with VNeTraffic application (if any);
8. Confirm VNeTraffic application password (if any);
9. Set VNeTraffic passcode (if any);
10. Upgraded VNeTraffic account level 2 successfully.
