Food Safety Department discovered that MINAMI Weight Loss product had fake declaration

The Food Safety Department has discovered that the MINAMI 12kg Belly Fat Loss product has a fake declaration. This product has not been granted a Certificate of Registration, causing concerns about food safety. Be careful when choosing belly fat loss products on the market.

On November 12, the Department of Food Safety ( Ministry of Health ) sent a document to the National Steering Committee 389 on the management of functional food business on e-commerce platforms.

According to the Department of Food Safety, through post-inspection on the implementation of regulations on registration of declarations and self-declarations, production and trading of functional foods, the Department of Food Safety discovered that the MINAMI 12kg weight loss food product for belly fat reduction was being advertised and traded on the e-commerce platform (Shopee).

Through searching for data on the issuance of the Certificate of Registration of Product Declaration, the Department of Food Safety did not issue the Certificate of Registration of Product Declaration No. 5438/2024/DKSP dated July 12, 2024 for the product MINAMI 12kg Weight Loss to reduce belly fat of HKK Trading Company Limited, address: 7th Floor, No. 69, Nguyen Huy Quang Street, O Cho Dua Ward, Dong Da District, Hanoi City, specifically:

The Food Safety Department respectfully forwards the above content to the National Steering Committee 389 for your Agency to review and handle according to its authority.

Regarding this matter, on November 11, 2025, the Department of Food Safety issued Official Dispatch No. 2284/ATTP-SP to the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy - Ministry of Industry and Trade requesting a review of e-commerce trading floors, e-commerce sales applications, e-commerce sales websites and functional food product business booths on the above applications that have not been granted a Certificate of Registration of Declaration or have not submitted a self-declaration to the competent state management agency as prescribed.

On the same day, the Department of Food Safety issued Official Dispatch No. 2285/ATTP-SP requesting Shopee Company Limited to urgently review the business and electronic transactions of functional food products, and only trade functional food products that have been granted a Certificate of Product Declaration Registration by a competent state management agency or have been announced on the Food Safety Updated Data Information System according to regulations.

According to the provisions of Article 26 of Decree No. 15/2018/ND-CP dated February 2, 2018 of the Government: foods that must register content before advertising include health protection foods, medical nutritional foods, foods for special diets, nutritional products for children up to 36 months old that are not subject to advertising bans as prescribed in Article 7 of the Law on Advertising and may only be advertised with the correct content and scope as confirmed by the competent authority.

At the same time, immediately stop selling and remove information about the above MINAMI 12kg weight loss product to reduce belly fat.

The Department also requested the company to seriously implement Official Dispatches No. 2790/ATTP-SP dated November 4, 2024, Official Dispatch No. 3288/ATTP-SP dated December 30, 2024, Official Dispatch No. 951/ATTP-SP dated May 5, 2025, Official Dispatch No. 1050/ATTP-SP dated May 20, 2025 and Official Dispatch No. 1110/ATTP-SP dated May 27, 2025 of the Department of Food Safety.
