Speaking at the program, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai expressed her honor to introduce the image of Vietnam - a destination of timeless beauty, unique culture and open development opportunities to the Boston public. The Deputy Director also emphasized the similarities between Boston and Vietnam in the spirit of learning, cultural traditions and the desire for innovation.
Since 2023, Vietnam - US relations have been upgraded to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, in which tourism plays an important role in cultural exchange and promoting understanding between the two peoples. The United States is currently one of the key markets for Vietnam tourism, with nearly 623,000 visitors in the first 9 months of 2025. Vietnam is also one of the destinations with the highest international tourist growth rate in the world , reaching 21% in the first half of 2025 according to a report by UN Tourism.
Vietnam is a prominent and attractive destination.
According to the Deputy Director, there are four outstanding reasons that make Vietnam an attractive destination and potential for cooperation for US businesses:
First of all authentic experience Vietnam is known as a safe and friendly destination with many UNESCO-recognized heritages: 9 World Heritage Sites (6 cultural, 2 natural, 1 mixed) and 16 representative Intangible Cultural Heritages of Humanity.
With 3,260 km of coastline, warm climate, hospitable people, Vietnam is witnessing strong growth in high-end segments with luxury resorts, golf tourism, MICE, health tourism, competitive prices compared to other destinations in the region, while constantly improving service quality and infrastructure.
Land of creativity and innovation . Like Boston, Vietnam believes in the power of innovation. With a young, dynamic, and talented population, Vietnam is becoming one of Asia’s most dynamic economies. From tech start-ups to sustainable tourism, digital art, and green energy, Vietnam is shaping the future with creativity.
There are currently more than 2.3 million Vietnamese Americans, of whom about 40,000 live in the Boston area and Massachusetts. Many are professors, researchers, and businessmen who have made significant contributions to local academic and economic life. They are also “tourism ambassadors” who help promote the image of Vietnam to their American friends and colleagues.

Food paradise . In Vietnam, cuisine is not just a meal but also a journey of cultural discovery. From pho, banh mi, goi cuon, to coastal seafood dishes, each dish tells a story about the country and people of Vietnam, through which it demonstrates sophistication, balance and community cohesion.
Finally cooperation and opportunities . Vietnam is committed to making it easier for US tourists through flexible visa policies, direct flights, and international standard services. US citizens can now use 90-day e-visas, and immigration procedures have been significantly improved; Phu Quoc Island alone exempts visas for US tourists staying up to 30 days.
For US businesses, Vietnam is a potential market for tourism investment, hotel development, tourism technology and sustainable tourism projects.
Right before today's program, leading Vietnamese tourism, hotel and resort businesses had a direct B2B connection session with US partners, opening up specific business cooperation opportunities and developing high-quality products specifically for the US market.
“The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism is committed to supporting US businesses through famtrip programs, providing high-quality promotional materials, and connecting with reputable partners. We also welcome US media agencies to Vietnam to share authentic stories about the country and people of Vietnam; at the same time, we believe that Vietnam-US tourism cooperation will continue to grow stronger in the coming time,” Deputy Director Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai emphasized.
