According to the Civil Aviation Authority, as of April 8, airlines have provided an average of 100,000 - 110,000 seats per day on domestic routes during the April 30 and May 1 holidays. The number of seats provided increased by about 20% compared to the average flight schedule in March 2024.

Passenger booking rates are still at an average level on all domestic routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to local airports and vice versa, mostly fluctuating between 40-60%.

From April 26 to 29: Flights with high booking rates are: Hanoi - Quang Binh (99.5% on April 27), Ho Chi Minh City - Tuy Hoa (82.7% on April 27), Hanoi - Phu Quoc and Hanoi - Hue (both approximately 80% on April 27), Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc (77.2% on April 27). Other routes have average or lower booking rates.

For flights from local airports to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the booking rate is still low. The Dien Bien - Ho Chi Minh City route had a 99.4% booking rate on April 27, and the Dien Bien - Hanoi route had a 79.8% booking rate on April 28.

From April 30 to May 2: Flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to local airports currently have a booking rate of less than 50%, mostly fluctuating between 20 - 40%. The Hanoi - Dien Bien route alone reached a rate of 83.7% on May 2.

On the North-South route (Hanoi - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City): the booking rate for the April 30 and May 1 holidays is still relatively low, both below 50% (only the Hanoi - Da Nang route reached 50.3% on April 27).

Regarding ticket prices, before the holiday, flights with high booking rates such as Hanoi - Phu Quoc had the lowest ticket price of 2.2 million VND (April 29); Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc had the lowest ticket price of 1.5 million VND (April 29); Hanoi - Hue had the lowest ticket price of 1.4 million VND (April 29); Ho Chi Minh City - Tuy Hoa had the lowest ticket price of 1.6 million VND (April 26).

During and after the holiday, routes with high booking rates such as Dong Hoi - Ho Chi Minh City have the lowest ticket price of 2.1 million VND (May 2); Tuy Hoa - Ho Chi Minh City has the lowest price of 1.3 million VND (April 30); Phu Quoc - Ho Chi Minh City has the lowest price of 1.5 million VND (May 2); Phu Quoc - Hanoi has the lowest price of 2.4 million VND (May 2). On the main route, Vietjet's Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa flights have the lowest ticket price of 1.4 million VND for the entire holiday period.

The Civil Aviation Authority stated that up to now, on domestic flights, passengers can still basically book tickets and there are many ticket prices to choose from to suit each passenger's conditions and travel needs.

Expected to increase more than 100 flights/day during the holiday

The Civil Aviation Authority requested airlines to consider increasing capacity on flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to destinations with high tourism demand such as Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Tuy Hoa, Binh Dinh, Cam Ranh, etc., focusing on April 27 and 28, and May 1 to 3.

At the same time, the department will also consider increasing the parameters at Noi Bai airport from 37 flights/hour to 42 flights/hour during daytime hours in April; increasing the parameters at Tan Son Nhat airport from 44 flights/hour to 46 flights/hour during daytime hours during some peak days during the April 30 and May 1 holidays to serve people's travel needs.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority, airlines are planning to increase flights on domestic routes during the April 30 and May 1 holidays. Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines plans to increase 30-40 flights/day and Vietjet increases about 80 flights/day.
