
After 20 years of establishment and development, Dien Bien Tax Department has made many marks in tax work, always completing and exceeding the state budget revenue estimates assigned by the Ministry of Finance , the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee every year, actively contributing to the socio-economic development goals and ensuring the balance of revenue and expenditure, national security and defense of the province. In 2004, the state budget revenue in the area only reached over 80 billion VND, by 2023 the state budget revenue had reached over 1,500 billion VND. It is expected that in 2024 the budget revenue will reach 2,000 billion VND.
After 20 years of construction, development and reform of the apparatus, the organization of the Dien Bien Tax Department has been built and perfected with a tax management model based on combined functions and unified objects. Ensuring enhanced enforcement capacity, streamlining of focal points in a reasonable, scientific and effective manner. Tax administrative reform and modernization have been promoted, keeping up with the roadmap required by the Government.
In addition to professional activities, in recent years, the Provincial Tax Department has mobilized cadres, civil servants, and philanthropists to donate to support local social security activities. Responding to the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind", the Tax Department's grassroots union has mobilized all union members to support funding to build charity houses for disadvantaged families in Toa Tinh commune and to build a community house for Quai Nua commune, Tuan Giao district.

With the outstanding achievements, Dien Bien Tax Department and many collectives and individuals have been honored to receive many awards and emulation titles from the Party, State, Ministry of Finance, Provincial People's Committee, and General Department of Taxation.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Duc Toan congratulated and commended the collective of cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees of the Provincial Tax Department. He requested the Provincial Tax Department to continue to inherit and promote the tradition of solidarity, overcome all difficulties; each cadre, civil servant, public employee and employee needs to raise awareness of the responsibility of the sector for the cause of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security of the province. Coordinate with the local authorities, sectors and relevant professional agencies to proactively grasp the situation of budget collection in the province and the situation of tax debts. Regularly organize dialogues with businesses, taking taxpayer satisfaction as the main measure of success in state budget collection in the locality.
