
In her congratulatory speech, Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, President of the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, said that after 49 years of establishing diplomatic relations, the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Thailand has continuously developed strongly, has been upgraded to a Strategic Partnership and is moving towards a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The year 2025 will see positive results in the Vietnam-Thailand bilateral relationship in the fields of politics , economics, education, defense, and people-to-people exchange.
Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu added that Thailand is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in ASEAN and the two countries are striving towards the target of 25 billion USD by 2025. Thailand is in the top 10 largest investors in Vietnam, with more than 13.7 billion USD in registered capital, focusing on the fields of consumption, processing and manufacturing industry, renewable energy, green material production and modern distribution systems.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the Thai business community currently has more than 120 investment projects, operating effectively in the fields of high technology, logistics, clean energy, trade and tourism. The two sides are also actively implementing the "Three Connections" strategy including: supply chain connection - green economy connection - policy connection, creating conditions for investment capital, goods and businesses to circulate more smoothly, towards sustainable development.

Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu pledged that in 2026, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City will continue to coordinate more closely with the Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, businesses and the Thai community in Ho Chi Minh City in people-to-people diplomacy activities, contributing to promoting the increasingly sustainable and profound Vietnam-Thailand friendship and cooperation.
Thanking the City Union of Friendship Organizations for organizing this meaningful celebration for the Thai people, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, shared that 2025 marks a historic milestone in bilateral relations when Thailand and Vietnam upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, demonstrating deep mutual trust and a shared vision towards peace, prosperity and sustainable development.
Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn said that in the journey of strengthening the friendship between the two countries, the Friendship Associations play an irreplaceable role, being one of the key mechanisms to promote people-to-people exchanges, enhance mutual understanding and bring the two countries closer together. The Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City thanks the dedication, tireless dedication and valuable contributions of the City Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City to the Thailand-Vietnam relationship, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries today and in the future.
