The book reflects 65 years of warm Vietnam-Cuba friendship

On November 12, in Hanoi, the Truth National Political Publishing House in collaboration with the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam launched the book "65 years of cultivating the loyal and exemplary friendship between Vietnam and Cuba".

Over the past 65 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025), the loyal and exemplary relationship between the two peoples, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro, has always been diligently cultivated by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, overcoming all the ups and downs of history and remaining strong until today, as President Ho Chi Minh affirmed: "Vietnam and Cuba are thousands of miles apart, but the hearts of the people of our two countries are very close to each other like brothers in the same family".

Imbued with his teachings, Vietnam always affirms that "solidarity and support for Cuba is the conscience and responsibility of communists and all Vietnamese people", the tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking", and the morality of loyalty to friends, comrades and brothers.

In order to enhance information and propaganda about the meaning, importance and development of the traditional solidarity and special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, the two countries' senior leaders agreed to identify 2025 as the "Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Year".

On this occasion, the Truth National Political Publishing House in collaboration with the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam compiled and published the book “65 years of cultivating the loyal and exemplary friendship between Vietnam and Cuba”, which richly and vividly reflects the important historical marks that have fostered the special, exemplary and rare solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.

The 200-page large-format book, synthesizing many valuable sources of documents and images, consists of three main parts: "President Ho Chi Minh - President Fidel Castro: The one who laid the historical foundation for the Vietnam - Cuba relationship", "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship, a special and exemplary solidarity relationship"; "Imprints of historic visits by leaders of Vietnam - Cuba".

Speaking at the book launch ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, emphasized that today, in the context of many changes in the world, the special and loyal friendship between the two countries is a solid foundation for Vietnam and Cuba to always stand side by side, continue to firmly build and protect socialism and the socio-economic development in each country, contributing to the common efforts for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

The book “65 years of cultivating the loyal and exemplary friendship between Vietnam and Cuba” contributes to enhancing information and propaganda about the meaning and importance of the traditional solidarity, special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba; educating the young generation of the two countries to always cherish, preserve and further develop the special, exemplary and loyal relationship between the two peoples.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes affirmed that the book is an outstanding contribution to preserving historical memories and the special solidarity and friendship between the two peoples established by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro and is a very meaningful initiative on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba.

According to Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, the book introduces many typical documents and images about the historic visits as well as exchanges between the two countries' leaders.
