The program not only commends exemplary individuals but also demonstrates that learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example has become a reality in all levels of the Veterans Association nationwide, creating a ripple effect through many effective models in economic development, poverty reduction, new rural construction, maintaining local peace, and caring for the lives of members.
The program was attended by Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association , along with many exemplary veteran officials and members from across the country.
At the program, many exemplary individuals shared touching stories about their journeys in overcoming difficulties to develop the economy, support their comrades, participate in eliminating temporary housing, maintain peace in the area, and search for and collect the remains of fallen soldiers. These simple stories reveal the sense of responsibility, camaraderie, and dedication of these former soldiers in today's life.

Over the past ten years, the Veterans' Association at all levels has effectively implemented Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW. Studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh has increasingly become a regular and voluntary activity for cadres and members. From practical experience at the grassroots level, many good models and creative approaches have emerged, bringing practical results. Typical examples include the models "Veterans' Clubs Helping Each Other Develop Economically," "Veterans' Clubs Helping Each Other Reduce Poverty and Do Effective Economic Activities," "Revolving Capital Contribution and Crop Conversion," "5+1" (5 well-off members helping 1 poor member), "2 Eradicating, 3 Helping," and models of VAC, VACR, and farms… Through these, they have contributed to creating jobs, increasing income, and helping many members rise out of poverty sustainably.
Beyond economic development, the movement to learn from and follow President Ho Chi Minh's example within the Veterans' Association at all levels is closely linked to social welfare activities, caring for the lives of members and the community. From 2016 to the present, in response to the nationwide emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses," the Association at all levels has supported the construction of 23,000 houses of gratitude with a total value of over 1.15 trillion VND; contributing to the elimination of more than 43,000 temporary and dilapidated houses for veteran members. In the movement to build new rural areas, veteran members nationwide have donated millions of square meters of land, contributed tens of billions of VND and hundreds of thousands of labor days to build infrastructure and beautify village roads and alleys.
A highlight of the movement is that studying and following Uncle Ho's teachings is linked to the "Exemplary Veteran" emulation movement, and models such as "Skilled Mass Mobilization," "Building Peaceful Religious Communities," and "Security in Religious Areas"... Through these initiatives, veterans continue to uphold the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in contemporary life; actively participating in maintaining political security and social order, and combating false and hostile narratives at the grassroots level.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals who have achieved outstanding results in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh during the period 2016-2026. Delegates also laid flowers and reported their achievements to President Ho Chi Minh at Dai Doan Ket Square, Pleiku Ward.
