Former PVF-CAND coach takes the hot seat at Nam Dinh

Coach Mauro Jeronimo officially leads Nam Dinh .

On the afternoon of November 14, the Southern football team confirmed the appointment of coach Mauro Jeronimo as the team's head coach. "I am very honored to work at Nam Dinh. This is a quality team, well-invested and has many good players. We will fight together to bring about the best results," coach Mauro said on the day of his introduction.

The new captain of the Nam Dinh team also emphasized that Nam Dinh is competing on 4 fronts and will be a big challenge for him: “It is both a challenge and an honor. Not many teams in Vietnam have such an opportunity,” he said.

In addition to changing the head coach position, Nam Dinh also restructured the management apparatus to increase operational efficiency. Mr. Vu Hong Viet holds the role of General Director of the company and Executive Director of the club. The two deputy executive directors are Nguyen Quoc Phong and Lam Van Thoa, while Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien returns to the role of Technical Director.

Coach Mauro came to Vietnam to work in 2019 and led PVF-CAND in the First Division. Under the guidance of the coach born in 1987, this team has continuously achieved success when winning the First Division runner-up in two consecutive seasons 2023 and 2024. After losing to Ha Tinh in the play-off match for a ticket to V.League in the 2024/25 season, he said goodbye to the Police team. His replacement is Coach Thach Bao Khanh.

Coach Mauro has left his mark on many V.League teams thanks to his modern football style, focusing on pressing and team organization. His appearance on the coaching bench is expected to help Nam Dinh improve their playing style. In his hands is a squad of quality players, many of whom have just proven themselves last season.

The Portuguese coach’s debut match will take place on November 23, when Nam Dinh host Long An in the National Cup. This is the first opportunity for fans to evaluate the changes brought by the young coach.
