Previously, at around 9:00 a.m. on July 19, fishing boat QB-33841 TS of Mr. Pham Van Tri (born in 1970) residing in Hai Dong village, Quang Phu commune (old) now Phu Trach commune, Quang Tri province, while exploiting seafood at a location about 35 nautical miles southeast of Roon estuary ( Quang Tri ), encountered a storm that caused the boat to sink. All 7 fishermen on board were wearing life jackets and drifting at sea.
Fortunately, all of these fishermen were safely rescued by fishing boat number QB-93628 TS owned by Mr. Pham Ngoc Huong (Lien Trung village, Canh Duong commune (formerly) now Hoa Trach commune, Quang Tri province). Afterwards, this fishing boat brought the 7 injured crew members back to Roon estuary in normal health condition.
According to statistics, Quang Tri province has a total of 8,267 vessels with 25,801 workers. As of 10:00 a.m. on July 20, there were 617 vessels with 3,107 workers operating at sea. The Quang Tri Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue requested localities and units to inform owners of vessels and captains of fishing boats of the location, direction of movement and developments of storm No. 3 so that they can proactively avoid it.
