Da Nang spends 200 billion VND to support people and restore infrastructure after floods

On November 1, Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that the city has agreed to spend 200 billion VND from the budget to directly support people affected by damages and repair essential infrastructure works after the recent historic floods.

According to Mr. Tran Nam Hung, the top priority now is to stabilize people's lives and production as soon as possible. The city is committed to ensuring adequate food, drinking water and necessities, "so that no one will go hungry or lack clothing."

Along with that, the budget of 200 billion VND will be used to support people according to regulations; at the same time, urgently repair and restore essential infrastructure works such as traffic, electricity, water, environmental sanitation, health and education , in order to soon bring activities back to normal.

In addition to the budget, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City is mobilizing and receiving support from agencies, organizations and individuals to continue providing timely and appropriate support to the right subjects.

Immediately after completing the damage statistics (expected on November 1, 2025), the City People's Committee will request the Central Government to support funding for immediate remedial work and implement long-term solutions, including: preventing coastal landslides in Hoi An, relocating and resettling people in areas at high risk of landslides, investing in transport infrastructure, electricity, roads, schools, and stations in mountainous areas that are more resilient to natural disasters, aiming at the goal of sustainable adaptation to climate change.
