Da Nang continuously leads the country in 5G mobile network speed

According to the latest data from the i-Speed speed measurement platform (under the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center - VNNIC, Ministry of Science and Technology ), in October 2025, 5G mobile broadband network speed decreased compared to the previous month with an average speed of 324.37 Mbps for download and 60.12 Mbps for upload.

However, major cities in Vietnam have seen significant growth in speed. Da Nang City continues to lead the country in 5G speed and has been the leading locality since the beginning of 2025. Da Nang's 5G network speed recorded in October 2025 reached 671.18 Mbps download, nearly 1.5 times higher than Hai Phong City (429.53 Mbps) and Hanoi (415.73 Mbps).

Regarding telecommunications enterprises, MobiFone reclaimed the "top spot" from Viettel in October 2025 with 5G network speed reaching 401.86 Mbps for download and 18.59 Mbps for upload. Viettel has 5G network speed reaching 318.37 Mbps for download and 71.73 Mbps. VNPT still maintains a steady 5G network speed with 294.64 Mbps for download and 46.43 Mbps for upload.

The average speed of mobile broadband networks nationwide recorded in October 2025 remained stable in the last 6 months with 81.7 Mbps for download and 25.57 Mbps for upload.

Thanks to the outstanding growth of 5G network, Da Nang is still the locality with the highest average mobile broadband speed (151.1 Mbps for download) in the country compared to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong and Can Tho.

Viettel with an average download speed of 96.57 Mbps and an average upload speed of 26.85 still leads major carriers in mobile broadband network speed.

After only a few years of 5G deployment, Vietnam's mobile broadband network speed has increased more than six times. At the 6th ASEAN Conference on 5G in late October 2025, Mr. Le Van Tuan - Director of the Radio Frequency Department, Ministry of Science and Technology said that in 2019, Vietnam's mobile Internet speed was at 26.67 Mbps, by September this year it had increased to 159.57 Mbps, ranking 13th in the world.

Vietnam also aims that by the end of 2025, the number of 5G stations will be equal to 50% of the current 4G stations, and 5G coverage will reach 90% of the population, promising to help mobile Internet speed grow.

Vietnam's fixed broadband network speed in October 2025 also saw significant improvement. The average download speed of the fixed broadband network has increased continuously since the beginning of 2025, reaching 273.27 Mbps download and 202.76 Mbps upload.

Among major cities and provinces, Hanoi leads the country in fixed Internet speed with a download speed of 335.93 Mbps. It is followed by Da Nang (317.82 Mbps), Hai Phong (295.9 Mbps), Can Tho (281.91 Mbps), Ho Chi Minh City (271.31 Mbps).

Regarding telecommunications enterprises, Viettel leads in speed with 318.48 Mbps download speed and 275.66 Mbps upload speed./.
