Da Nang launches innovation center on educational technology

On the morning of November 13, the University of Education (University of Danang ) launched the UED Innovation & Startup Hub, marking the journey of transformation from a traditional university model to an innovative university.

The center is oriented to become a regional leader in educational technology (EdTech) and community innovation, promoting innovation linked to practical needs. This will be a knowledge incubator where students, lecturers, businesses and managers meet, initiate and nurture ideas of scientific and social value.

UED Innovation & Startup Hub is not only a space connecting research and application, but also an education - research - startup ecosystem, transforming knowledge into products and solutions to create value for the community.

Here, each project and each scientific product does not stop at the laboratory, but is commercialized, disseminated and reinvested. This is also the focal point for promoting cooperation, connecting investment funds, start-ups and research organizations to form a sustainable knowledge value chain.

This is a place to connect and nurture scientific research of students and lecturers.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Vo Van Minh, Principal of the University of Education (University of Danang), the establishment of the UED Center for Innovation and Startup Support affirms the strategic orientation that the school pursues: science and technology is the spearhead, digital transformation is the foundation and innovation is the method of sustainable development.

"Innovation does not only start in the laboratory or on the research table, but originates from every class hour, every lecture, every small idea of the learner that is inspired and nurtured by teachers. It is from those inspirations that knowledge gradually becomes energy, spreading in every teaching, learning and research activity," said Associate Professor Dr. Minh.

UED Innovation & Startup Hub aims to create a vibrant innovation ecosystem by 2030, creating positive and sustainable impacts for the community.

Research on medicinal herbs is presented at the Center's exhibition space.

The three strategic pillars are: educational technology with the goal of developing high-quality EdTech products; innovation for the community to incubate projects that solve practical problems of sustainable development and applied science; optimization and commercialization of scientific research results, bridging technological solutions for education and the community.

Regarding ecosystem building and resource creation, the Center will organize at least 50 events to spread the spirit of innovation; receive and screen 300 startup ideas or projects. Regarding commercialization promotion, at least 5 startups will successfully raise capital; build a network of strategic partners with more than 30 businesses, investment funds, schools and social organizations; contribute to creating at least 100 new jobs from supported projects.

In terms of operational capacity and sustainability, the Center will build a network of more than 40 highly specialized consultants and ensure an average revenue growth rate of 10% per year, creating resources to expand its operations.
