Da Nang: Horrific landslide in the middle of a sunny day, 3 people are suspected to be buried

Although there has been no rain in the mountainous commune of Hung Son (Da Nang City) for the past 3 days, a terrible landslide occurred in the area on the morning of November 14. Currently, 3 local residents have not been contacted and are suspected to be buried.

Mr. Zơrâm Buôn, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Son Commune, said that until early afternoon of November 14, the authorities were still unable to reach the scene of the landslide in the Azắt stream area, Put village, Hung Son Commune because rocks and soil from the high mountains continued to fall down.

The landslide occurred at around 9:30 a.m. the same day. According to a clip recorded by local people, hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil from the high mountain collapsed, creating a turbulent flow down below. On both sides of the path of this "earth stream" are fields cultivated by local people. There are 3 people in Hung Son commune who have not been contacted, suspected to be buried in this landslide.

Currently, the Commune Police force is coordinating with other forces to try to approach the scene and mobilize people not to enter the landslide area to ensure safety.
