Da Nang rebuilds and repairs houses for 577 households after floods

(Chinhphu.vn) - On December 9, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Pham Duc An said that the City is actively directing the implementation of the "Quang Trung Campaign" to support the reconstruction and repair of houses for households severely damaged by the recent floods.

Through review, the whole city has 577 houses damaged in the recent floods, of which 146 houses need to be rebuilt and 431 houses need to be repaired. The city aims to complete all repaired houses before December 31, 2025 and complete new houses before January 31, 2026.

According to the report as of December 9, Da Nang City has started construction of 16/146 new houses, of which 4 houses have started construction, 12 houses have prepared the site and completed the documents. For the house repairs, localities have completed 144/431 houses (reaching 33.41%), of which 121 houses have been completed.

In order for households to soon have a warm home in time to welcome the Lunar New Year 2026, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested the Military Command, the City Police and the People's Committees of communes and wards to mobilize maximum shock forces, organizations and businesses to participate in supporting the people.

Border guards support the relocation of people's houses in the mountainous area of ​​Da Nang to a new resettlement area to ensure safety against floods.

Previously, on December 5, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City chaired an online meeting with localities to deploy the "Quang Trung Campaign". At the meeting, many mountainous localities reflected that the biggest problem was determining safe resettlement locations for people. Some mountainous areas also encountered traffic obstacles due to landslides, affecting the progress of material transportation and construction organization.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Pham Duc An assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Department of Construction to urgently conduct field surveys and guide localities in implementing resettlement work to ensure safety and suitability to local conditions; and at the same time assigned the Department of Finance to study and arrange funding for implementation.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested communes to continue reviewing and selecting suitable resettlement locations; any locality that has not yet determined a location should report immediately for guidance. At the same time, the local government is required to closely monitor each household, mobilize people to share responsibility, and join hands with the government in relocation, resettlement and life stabilization.

"The spirit of the "Quang Trung Campaign" is to act immediately and resolutely. Departments, branches and localities must participate with the highest determination and promote creativity to complete the goals on schedule," Chairman of the City People's Committee Pham Duc An requested.
