Authorities have found the last victim in the landslide on National Highway 6.

Representatives from Road Management Area I (Vietnam Road Administration) reported that during the night of December 14th to the early morning of December 15th, the unit coordinated with Road Construction Joint Stock Company 222 to mobilize 3 excavators to continuously dig at Km124+300 on National Highway 6, in Mai Chau commune, to search for victims buried in the landslide that occurred at 2:38 PM on December 14th.

At 3:05 AM on December 15th, rescue forces located the last victim, Mr. Bui Van C. (born in 1973), and brought him out at 3:45 AM. The two victims found earlier were Mr. Bui Van T. (born in 1980) and Mr. Pham Duc T. (born in 1997).

Earlier, at approximately 2:38 PM on December 14th, a landslide occurred at Km124+300, involving an estimated 1000 cubic meters of soil and rocks. The sudden landslide buried two workers performing routine maintenance for Road Construction Company 222 and one person riding a motorbike through the area.

After rescue operations concluded, the landslide site was cleared of debris to allow traffic to resume on the main route. By 5:36 AM on December 15th, vehicles were able to travel normally through the section of National Highway 6 affected by the landslide, under the direction of the authorities.

However, according to the leaders of the Vietnam Road Administration, this area still poses a potential risk of landslides, threatening traffic safety. The Administration has sent a working group to the site to assess the level of risk, select appropriate remedial solutions, and instructed Road Management Area I to strengthen monitoring of developments, ensure traffic flow, place adequate warning signs, and proactively implement traffic diversion plans when necessary.
