On the morning of July 22, the People's Committee of Cat Hai Special Zone coordinated with the Hai Phong City Military Command to increase forces, equipment, and materials to focus on reinforcing the sea dike in Dinh village, Hoang Chau commune (old) from K8+173 to K8+273. This is a vulnerable dike, at risk of wave overflow when the tide rises on the afternoon of July 22 due to the impact of storm No. 3.
With a force of nearly 200 people including officers and soldiers of the city's Military Command, Cat Hai Border Guard Station, civil servants of Cat Hai special zone, the Command Board for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of the special zone and local people, by noon on July 22, the dike was basically reinforced with more than 2,000 sacks containing 40 cubic meters of sand inserted into the dike body.
Previously, the People's Committee of Cat Hai Special Zone coordinated with the City Military Command and other forces to mobilize vehicles, machinery and human resources to install more than 500 bamboo and wooden stakes and more than 1,000 sandbags to reinforce 150m of the southern dike in Ngoai village, belonging to the old Phu Long commune.
Up to now, the dike systems have basically ensured the prevention of landslides during high tides, ensuring the safety of property of local people and businesses, and limiting damage caused by the circulation of storm No. 3.
