According to Mr. Nguyen Van Quan, representative of Nam Dinh Football Supporters Association, this association dissolved because it no longer has faith in the province's football team.
The official fan club of Nam Dinh FC announced its dissolution last night, August 9. Mr. Nguyen Van Quan, representative of the Executive Committee of the club and in charge of communications, said that before August 2, no one thought this could happen, but the 1-2 loss to Hanoi Police, which he called "humiliating", was the peak of disappointment.
Over the past week, Mr. Quan and the members of the Executive Committee of the Association have thought a lot. When the key members have calmed down, the Association will hold a meeting, but when it comes to proposing dissolution, all members present agree. "When there is no more trust, we cannot continue," Mr. Quan told VnExpress this afternoon, August 10. "We can return, but we don't know when, maybe not until the club plays with real dedication, beautifully, and cleanly."

Operating systematically since 2013, Nam Dinh Fan Club has gone through many ups and downs with the team, especially when returning to V-League 2018. Nam Dinh Club often had to compete to avoid relegation, sometimes even owing players salaries. The Fan Club once had to raise money from members, getting 50 million VND, to reward and encourage the players.
From 2022, Nam Dinh Club will have a new sponsor, helping to improve the players' lives, buying many quality new players to compete for high positions. "When the stomach is full but the spirit is down, that is really sad," Mr. Quan said about the team's recent negative playing spirit.
In addition, the fact that the fan association wants to have a dialogue but the club has been silent all this time has also made the relationship between the two sides loose. "Maybe they don't dare to meet the fans, or maybe they don't think it's necessary," said Mr. Quan. "We have also returned the office at Thien Truong Stadium. Thank you to the club for supporting the association with a decent place to work for many years."
In round 5 of phase II of V-League 2023, Nam Dinh lost 0-2 to Hai Phong when playing away at Lach Tray Stadium. Stand B still witnessed Nam Dinh fans cheering. Mr. Nguyen Van Quan said that everyone has the right to freely cheer because they love it and no one can stop them. The Nam Dinh Fan Club is dissolved, so there will be no major events such as cheering at home, renting cars to "refuel" away matches, etc.
Nam Dinh's last home match of the season is against Ha Tinh in round 7 of phase II of V-League 2023 on August 27. "I think the B stands will be empty, but there will still be many other people coming to the stadium," said Mr. Quan. "We are just a group, we cannot represent the whole province. But I think Thien Truong will be very sad."
