Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH) has just held a ceremony to introduce a joint doctoral training program with the University of Huddersfield (UK).
The program is implemented in the direction of internationalizing postgraduate education and expanding opportunities to access international research environments for Vietnamese graduate students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Deputy Director of UEH - said that the program is one of UEH's milestones in the process of implementing the internationalization strategy and developing a multidisciplinary university model.
He emphasized that the cooperation with Huddersfield creates conditions for learners to access British training programs and academic standards right in Vietnam.
Representing the University of Huddersfield, Professor Monty Adkins shared that the cooperation between the two schools was built since 2017 through many academic exchange activities. He expressed his hope that the program will continue to expand research cooperation and strengthen professional connections between the two sides.

At the launch ceremony, Professor Abhijit Sharma introduced the University of Huddersfield as a “hub of academic innovation” where theory and practice are connected. The school has a long history in the UK and is internationally recognized for its teaching quality and applied research capacity.
Huddersfield Business School was awarded the title “Business School of the Year 2023” by Times Higher Education and is accredited by AACSB, while the entire school received TEF Gold certification 2023, a 5-star QS rating for overall educational quality and is in the 501-600 group according to Times Higher Education.
Representative of the Institute of Business Research - UEH, Mr. Pham Quoc Thy, presented details about the joint program, emphasizing the structure built according to international standards, the co-instructor mechanism between lecturers of the two schools and the flexible research roadmap.
He also introduced the research support ecosystem of the Institute of Business Research - UEH, from international publication orientation, research method training courses, to an open academic network. The program is expected to enhance the research capacity of UEH lecturers and researchers, promote international scientific cooperation and increase the quality of publications in prestigious journals.
