UWA ranks first in Western Australia for graduate employment rates thanks to its approach of allowing individuals to design their own career-oriented programs… from year one.
At the University of Western Australia (UWA), students design their own study program with any two majors in the same or different fields and complete it within three years with the same tuition fee as studying one major. This allows students to flexibly choose according to their interests and strengths.
Additionally, students can pursue a combined four-year Bachelor's and Master's degree in a number of fields such as STEM education, economics , biotechnology or biomedical sciences.

In parallel, the UWA Career and Employability Centre supports students with orientation from the first year and throughout their studies. Students can participate in career guidance programs and equip themselves with job application skills such as career planning, CV writing guidance, or participate in mock interviews and practical experience activities...
UWA also focuses on developing soft skills such as leadership, communication, teamwork... for students. The school encourages each individual to participate in student activities in a network of more than 150 clubs or volunteer programs each semester.

The University of Western Australia has built connections with more than 4,500 global businesses and organizations. Thanks to that, students have the opportunity to access the job market early through internship programs (Work Integrated Learning), expand the network of relationships (networking) with businesses and alumni, or connect 1-1 with consultants in the same field (Career Mentor Link). In particular, the McCusker Centre of Citizenship program creates opportunities for young people to participate in internships at one of more than 400 businesses, government organizations, and non-profit organizations.
Students can also put theory into practice through the UWA Innovation Academy, where they work directly with businesses to solve a real-world problem over four weeks, or at Bloom WA, where students work on their own start-up projects and present their ideas to potential investors at the end of the semester.
In addition to studying in Australia, UWA students can participate in exchange programs (Global Learning) to one of 150 partner universities in many places around the world such as the US, UK, Singapore, Korea, Japan... The programs last from two weeks to 12 months. UWA's partner universities are often highly ranked in the world, including the National University of Singapore, the University of Manchester (UK) or Peking University (China).

In 2024, all Vietnamese students enrolling in undergraduate and master's degrees at UWA will have the opportunity to receive a Global Excellence Scholarship (GES) of up to AUD 48,000 (ie AUD 12,000 per year) or International Student Awards financial support of up to AUD 20,000 (ie AUD 5,000 per year).
After applying for the GES scholarship of AUD 12,000 per year, students only need to pay an average tuition fee of AUD 21,300 - 33,500 per year (based on 2023 tuition fees) for undergraduate or master's degrees at Australia's leading Group of Eight member universities. After completing the program, students have the opportunity to stay and work in Australia for 3-5 years for undergraduate degrees and 4-6 years for master's degrees. According to Study International , as of September 2022, UWA students have higher starting salaries than students from other schools in the region and many other units nationwide.
Dang Nguyen Thuy Duong (Jenny) graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Finance and Marketing in 2020 from UWA Business School. She received the UWA Academic Excellence undergraduate scholarship in 2017 and participated in an internship program at UWA’s McCusker Centre of Citizenship. Jenny is currently a Digital Marketing Coodinator in Perth, Western Australia.
According to the Vietnamese girl, compared to other schools in the prestigious Group of Eight (Go8) in this country, The University of Western Australia (UWA) is in the top 100 in the world but still has the lowest tuition fee for her course. At the same time, the school has a high rate of Vietnamese students interested in studying here.
Jenny said she enjoys the highly interactive nature of the curriculum at UWA Business School, especially the tutorials and in-depth discussions. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions and voice their opinions. This makes the lessons more interesting, especially when they get to see things from different perspectives and learn from their peers.
In addition, with an internship at the McCusker Centre of Citizenship, an internship program connected by UWA for students of the school, she was able to apply her academic knowledge and improve her professional skills. The opportunity to intern at a non-profit organization provided the Vietnamese female student with many valuable experiences and insights into social issues.
“Most importantly, I had an opportunity to contribute to meaningful goals in my professional development,” Jenny added.
In the near future, the event organizer will organize events in Hanoi (October 25) and Ho Chi Minh City (October 28) to help parents and students learn more about scholarship policies, listen to sharing from professors in the field of Computer Science and Business Analytics and Senior Management of UWA in Vietnam and the region.
