The 2nd Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association of Hanoi City

On November 30, the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association of Hanoi city held its 2nd Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term, to summarize the 2020-2025 term and outline the direction of activities for the next 5 years.

During the 2020-2025 term, the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association of Hanoi has achieved many outstanding achievements in developing friendly and cooperative relations; organizing peace , solidarity and friendship activities between the people of Hanoi and the people of Sofia to promote people-to-people diplomacy of the Party and State in the city.

Regarding the direction of activities in the next term, the Association will continue to organize people-to-people diplomacy activities with practical content, rich forms, and Hanoi's cultural identity; consolidate and promote the good traditional friendship between the people of Vietnam and Bulgaria in general, between the people of Hanoi and the people of Sofia in particular; towards the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2030.

Congratulating the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association of Hanoi on organizing the 2nd Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term, Bulgarian Ambassador to Vietnam Pavlin Todorov emphasized that the Congress was held at a time when the relationship between Bulgaria and Vietnam is at its highest stage of development, in the context that 2025 not only marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, but is also a special milestone to look back on the past journey, and at the same time orient the partnership to continue to develop further in the future.

Highly appreciating the contributions of the Central Committee of the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association in general and the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association of Hanoi in particular, Ambassador Pavlin Todorov affirmed that these contributions have significantly contributed to preserving the tradition of Vietnam-Bulgaria friendship; at the same time, creating new, practical and meaningful cooperation contents, contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Bulgaria Strategic Partnership.

On this occasion, Ambassador Pavlin Todorov expressed his thanks to the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association of Hanoi for always closely and effectively coordinating with the Bulgarian Embassy in Vietnam in implementing activities to enhance understanding and multifaceted cooperation between the people of Vietnam and Bulgaria.

Speaking at the congress, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, acknowledged the contributions of the Hanoi Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association in strengthening the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Bulgaria; affirmed that the association's activities have contributed to promoting the image of Hanoi and Vietnam to international friends.

The Standing Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations suggested that in the coming time, the Vietnam-Bulgaria Friendship Association of Hanoi should continue to promote its role by disseminating important documents of the Party and State to its members; promoting cooperation with the Bulgarian Embassy, ​​partners in Sofia (Bulgaria) and many other localities in this country; establishing new branches; enhancing humanitarian activities; promoting its role as a bridge for economic, cultural, sports, tourism cooperation... between Vietnam and Bulgaria.

The Congress consulted and elected the Executive Committee and Inspection Committee for the 2025-2030 term; awarded certificates of merit to individuals and collectives with outstanding contributions to promoting people-to-people diplomacy activities in Hanoi, contributing to further fostering the good relationship between Vietnam and Bulgaria.
