In the atmosphere of the whole country looking forward to the 14th National Congress of the Party - a momentous political event, a significant milestone on the path of national development, we had the opportunity to listen to the heartfelt thoughts and aspirations of farmers with "muddy hands and feet."
From the rural areas of Tay Ninh , people are expressing their hopes for a "new era" in a very down-to-earth way: practical wishes for food, clothing, money, and stability in their villages.
A dramatic transformation
After nearly 40 years of reform, the face of rural Vietnam has undergone dramatic transformations. For those who have lived through both periods of resistance and peace , like Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chinh (Chairman of the Elderly Association, Executive Committee of the Farmers' Association of Tan Hoi Commune), faith in the leadership of the Party remains unwavering.
Mr. Chinh shared that he has always closely followed the country's transformation process since the 6th National Congress in 1986. For him, the 14th National Congress is not just a transitional congress, but a moment when the country is "transforming into a new era, the era of the nation."
He hoped that this Congress would elect outstanding and exemplary leaders with strategic vision to bring Vietnam to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world's leading powers by 2045. This was not only his personal aspiration but also a symbol of the unwavering faith of the peasantry in the destiny of the nation.
In An Ninh commune, Mr. Huynh Van Trac expressed his expectations for the establishment and development of agricultural cooperative models. According to him, this is the key to enabling people to directly benefit from economic achievements and support each other in production.
Mr. Trac hopes that in the next term, the State will have mechanisms to receive and allocate preferential capital directly to farmers, helping them to have a foundation for sustainable economic development.
Mr. Vo Van Dong (residing in Binh Hoa hamlet, Phuoc Chi commune) expressed his hope that the management agencies, especially the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, would implement effective price stabilization policies.
The current reality is that the paradox of "rising input costs while rice prices remain unstable" (including fertilizers and pesticides) is directly eroding the profits of laborers. The people's desire is simple yet full of aspiration: "For agricultural businesses to develop and for lives to be more comfortable."
Messages filled with trust.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chinh from Tan Hoi commune offered a fresh and humane perspective when discussing policies for the elderly – a group that currently accounts for approximately 17% of the population.
He acknowledged and appreciated the Party and State's decision to lower the social retirement age from 80 to 75 and to expand the eligibility criteria to include those aged 70 to under 75 who belong to poor/near-poor households.
However, Mr. Chinh also boldly suggested that more attention should be paid to geriatric healthcare. According to him, while hospitals all have pediatrics, obstetrics, and general medicine departments, the field of geriatrics has not yet received sufficient attention.
Mr. Chinh hopes that the government will implement more activities to care for the health of the elderly so that they can "live happily and healthily with their children and grandchildren."
On the eve of the Congress, one of the most important issues of concern to farmers is personnel management. All policies can only truly be implemented if there are leaders with sufficient dedication and competence.

Mr. Vo Van Dong emphasized that the greatest aspiration is to elect leaders who are "virtuous and talented." According to him, a leader who is strong in both economic thinking and security management will help people stabilize their lives, and only then will the State develop strongly.
The belief in a "new wave" in the Party's management and leadership during the new term is spreading strongly from the grassroots level to the central level.
It is evident that farmers' expectations for the 14th Party Congress are diverse but centered around three main pillars: sustainable economy, synchronized infrastructure, and comprehensive social welfare. They don't aspire to unrealistic goals, but rather hope that the Party's resolutions will translate into financial support, stable rice prices, paved roads, and improved healthcare for the elderly...
The voices from An Ninh, Phuoc Chi, and Tan Hoi communes (Tay Ninh province) are the very breath of real life. They are messages filled with trust and responsibility from those directly contributing to national food security.
With the unity of the Party's will and the people's aspirations, we have every right to believe that the 14th National Congress will open a new chapter, leading the country into a brighter era of development.
