(Baoquangngai.vn) - On the morning of May 22nd (the 15th day of the 4th lunar month), at Phap Hoa Pagoda ( Quang Ngai City), the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Quang Ngai province organized the Great Buddha's Birthday Celebration for the Buddhist year 2568 - Gregorian year 2024. Attending the ceremony were the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ngai province, Vo Thanh An; leaders of several departments and agencies; and a large number of dignitaries, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers.
Following several ceremonies, Venerable Thich Thong Hoi, Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of the province, delivered the message for the Great Buddha's Birthday Celebration 2568 of the Buddhist calendar from the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Association. The message emphasized that the Buddha's Birthday season is a season of love and understanding. The Supreme Patriarch called on all Buddhists to practice the teachings of the Buddha; to pray for the end of war, the dissipation of hatred, and the spread of love to all sentient beings, illuminating this world with the light of compassion and wisdom. He also expressed the hope that all Buddhists worldwide would unite, live together selflessly, and build a peaceful and tranquil world.

They will continue to maintain and expand unity and harmony, consolidating solemnity and purity; and contribute even more actively to the overall development of the Buddhist Church, as well as to building a more civilized and modern province.
