Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ly Xuong Can said: Vietnam is a country with rich and diverse tourism resources, beautiful natural landscapes, and a system of high-class golf courses, attractive to Koreans. Especially in recent years, Vietnam has become an attractive golf destination for tourists around the world . Vietnam has been voted the Best Golf Destination in Asia 7 times and won the Best Golf Destination in the world award twice. Vietnam has been chosen as the venue for many international professional tournaments, thereby affirming the class of the golf course system and the professional organization of Vietnam's golf tourism.
In the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy to 2030 approved by the Prime Minister , infrastructure development and golf tourism product development are among the key orientations of Vietnam's tourism industry. Therefore, Mr. Ly Xuong Can invited and introduced the Korean Shinsegae Group to develop the Project to build Vietnam into the best golf country.
According to a representative of Shinsegae Group of Korea, in 2022, 11% of the population of Korea will play golf with a scale of about 15.1 billion USD. Every year, the rate of Korean tourists coming to Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, to play golf is very high. Therefore, Shinsegae Group wishes to cooperate with leading golf tourism partners in Vietnam to invest in developing golf tourism, build a duty-free sales system in Vietnam and bring more and more Korean golf tourists to Vietnam.
Through information gathering and practical research, Shinsegae Group of Korea plans to invest in some localities of Vietnam, and then possibly expand. The Group hopes that the Vietnam National Tourism Administration will support the development of this project.
