On the afternoon of November 26 in Hanoi , the Central Council of the Young Pioneers coordinated with SCG Group (Thailand) to award scholarships to poor students who have overcome difficulties. Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to Vietnam - was moved by the examples of overcoming difficulties and the determination of the students with great determination.

This year, the Central Youth Union and the Central Council of Young Pioneers supported and awarded the "SCG Sharing the Dream" scholarship to 50 students and 100 university students. The program also supports post-scholarship training with a total value of 1.6 billion VND.

The Central Council of the Young Pioneers has received 50 qualified student applications from 25 provinces and cities across the country and more than 1,000 student applications from first to final year at public universities in the fields of science and technology, environment, design, and economics such as Accounting, Business Administration, and Marketing.

Speaking at the scholarship awarding ceremony, Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya said that she had attended several scholarship awarding ceremonies of SCG Group in other countries, this was the first time she attended in Vietnam.

She listened to the stories of the scholarship recipients. She expressed her understanding of the difficulties they faced.

Ms. Urawadee said that the Thai Government attaches importance to the field of cooperation, development and empowerment of young people. Thailand always wants to promote cooperation programs between Thailand and Vietnam through sustainable development programs.

"We see that the cooperative scholarship fund between the Vietnamese government, the Thai government and SCG Group is a catalyst to contribute to establishing a close cooperative relationship between the governments of the two countries," said Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya.

Each scholarship application is not only an achievement but also contains many dreams.

Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of Young Pioneers - said that after 18 years of operation in Vietnam, the "SCG - Sharing the Dream" scholarship with thousands of scholarships has been awarded to students in difficult circumstances across the country, giving them more motivation to pursue their dreams and journey to adulthood.

Since 2022, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers has coordinated with SCG Group to expand the scholarship program nationwide and add students. This is considered an important step, in line with the task of caring for and supporting young people, which is increasingly being focused on by the Youth Union and Young Pioneers.

Ms. Trang said that the submitted documents not only recorded the students' outstanding academic achievements, but also contained countless efforts and aspirations behind them.

These are stories of overcoming illness, persistent efforts in difficult family conditions, simple but beautiful dreams of becoming a doctor, engineer, teacher, or simply becoming a useful person to the community.

"Those stories have a profound impact on us - the people working in the Youth Union and Young Pioneers, making each time we read the documents not only a process, but also a time to pause and see that our responsibility towards the children is still much greater, and we must be more persistent in the time to come" - Ms. Trang said.

2025 is a significant milestone as Vietnam and Thailand look towards the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.

From 2022 to present, the Central Council of Young Pioneers and SCG Group has organized three consecutive scholarship seasons, awarding 600 outstanding students in the three regions of North - Central - South with a total scholarship value of more than 5 billion VND.

Each year, the program awards about 200 scholarships, of which 100 are for students (worth 2 million VND/scholarship) and 100 are for university students (worth 15 million VND/scholarship). At the same time, in the programs and events of the Central Youth Union, the Central Council of Young Pioneers, SCG Group also awards many scholarships, gifts, backpacks, and funding to support the organization of programs for children.

In addition to financial support, the Central Council of Young Pioneers and SCG Group also coordinate to organize accompanying activities such as: Training on environmental protection skills, career orientation for students; organizing to commend and honor typical learning models and community projects of students.
