Artists in Ho Chi Minh City are a force that has made many positive contributions to helping people overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. They are not afraid of difficulties, volunteering to go to supermarkets to join the staff in processing orders quickly, and delivering them to people during the quarantine period.
They also split up to go to field hospitals to sing and encourage patients, hoping they would recover soon and return to their families.
Unforgettable memories
The volunteer artist team is led by MC Quynh Hoa - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House - under the coordination of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union.

The team is now called the Ho Chi Minh City Artist Volunteer Team with about 100 members, led by MC Quynh Hoa.
Many famous artists, along with young singers, actors and models, participated and joined hands in many charity activities for the community.
Many members of the team are providing educational sponsorship to disadvantaged children up to the age of 18 whose parents have died due to COVID-19.
"Every time I think back to the time of fighting the epidemic, the feeling of fear still exists. Thinking back to that time, thank MC Quynh Hoa for helping me confidently step out of my comfort zone to support the frontline of fighting the epidemic because at first I was afraid of many things.
"I was afraid that if I didn't do well, everyone would have to worry about me. Then when I was with my teammates, witnessing the hardships of the frontline forces, witnessing the losses, I didn't allow myself to stay at home anymore" - Quoc Dai told Tuoi Tre.
For singer Ngoc Linh, it was an unforgettable time when she and the artist volunteer team sang at field hospitals and went to supermarkets to serve people.
"It is a source of pride and honor to feel that I can contribute to the community. Many people have died during the pandemic. There are symbolic works that unite to overcome COVID-19 so that we can remember and be grateful to those who sacrificed their lives for the pandemic," Ngoc Linh shared.

Build memorial and relaxation parks
In the face of such great loss due to the pandemic, the construction of a memorial space for Covid-19 victims is very meaningful. Many artists wish to have a symbolic work to unite to overcome COVID-19.
Singer Quoc Dai said he supported the construction of the project to express his sympathy for families who suffered losses during the pandemic. More importantly, this place reminds us how strong and united we were to overcome the pandemic.

MC Quynh Hoa shared with Tuoi Tre: "I want to build a symbolic space to unite to overcome COVID-19 like a park for people to walk and relax in a quiet space, not an entertainment space like Nguyen Hue walking street. On anniversaries or holidays, families with victims who died from COVID-19 can come and place a flower in memory, which will be very meaningful."
She added that there is no need to build a memorial house here. A QR code is just needed here, so interested people can scan and view information and images about the time when medical staff, people and anti-epidemic forces overcame COVID-19.
Singer Ngoc Linh suggested that there should be more chairs around the construction site so that visitors can sit and rest. She also suggested adding a memorial house displaying images and items related to COVID-19 for people to visit.
MC Quynh Hoa shared with Tuoi Tre that in 2026, on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh City Artist Volunteer Team, the team will organize many activities to care for children whose parents have died due to COVID-19. The team is expected to hold a music night to commemorate COVID-19 victims, inviting relatives of families who have died due to COVID-19 to attend.
"Currently, artists, along with friends, family, and relatives of artists, sponsor the education of about 300 disadvantaged children whose parents have passed away due to COVID-19 up to the age of 18. Every year, we organize gift giving for the children through the Love Connection program within the framework of the Vietnamese Tet Festival. For children in special circumstances, after the age of 18 with good academic achievements, the team continues to call for help to cover some of the university tuition fees" - Quynh Hoa said.
