Dak Lak Province Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival 2024
According to the 2025 Local Innovation Index Report published by the Ministry of Science and Technology , Dak Lak achieved 34.8 points, ranking 24th out of 34 provinces and centrally-administered cities. This result shows that there is still significant room for improvement, especially in the component indicators related to the business environment, digital transformation, and the innovation capacity of enterprises.
Based on an assessment of the current situation, Dak Lak province aims to improve its PII ranking by at least two positions in 2026 compared to 2025, striving to achieve a PII score of 40. By 2030, the province's PII score is expected to reach approximately 50 points, placing Dak Lak among the top 15 localities nationwide in innovation.
The plan clearly defines the direction for the balanced improvement of all component indicators. To achieve this goal, the province focuses on significantly improving the component indicators that are below average, while maintaining and further enhancing those with high scores. This approach aims to avoid uneven development and ensure the quality of sustainable innovation growth.
To achieve the set goals, Dak Lak province will implement a comprehensive set of key solutions. One of the important tasks is to raise awareness among all levels, sectors, and localities about the role of innovation in socio-economic development, considering it a key driving force for long-term growth. The dissemination and promotion of the local Innovation Index will be intensified to create unity in understanding and action.
The province focuses on perfecting mechanisms and policies to improve the investment and business environment, supporting businesses in innovation and the application of science and technology. Issues related to digital transformation, data, technological infrastructure, and administrative reform are also identified as key factors directly impacting the PII results.
The plan also emphasizes the coordinating role among departments and agencies in providing data, accurately assessing the component indicators, and ensuring accuracy and transparency in monitoring and improving the local-level Innovation Index.
The implementation of the PII score improvement plan aims not only to improve Dak Lak's ranking on the national index, but also to achieve the long-term goal of enhancing innovation capacity, governance quality, and competitiveness of the local economy, contributing to the effective implementation of the Party and State's guidelines for the development of science, technology, and innovation.
