At noon on January 19th, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Tan, Head of the Hoa Xuan Commune Police ( Dak Lak ), confirmed that his unit had successfully rescued two foreign tourists who were in distress. The victims were swept away by large waves and trapped deep in a rocky crevice at Tien Beach, facing a life-threatening situation.

Developments in the accident at Tien Beach
The incident occurred at approximately 7:40 AM on January 19th at Tien Beach, in Phuoc Tan village, Hoa Xuan commune. According to initial information, a tourist group of four people with American, German, and Danish nationalities, along with a tour guide, visited and swam at the beach.

While swimming, two tourists, NT (German national) and VD (Danish national), were unexpectedly struck by large waves and swept into a rocky crevice near the shore. Due to the complex terrain and the continuous pounding of the rocks, the victims were trapped and panicked, facing a serious safety risk.

Rescue efforts in harsh conditions
Immediately after receiving the report, the Hoa Xuan Commune Police quickly verified the information and approached the scene. Recognizing the dangerous nature of the terrain due to sharp rocks and strong waves, the unit promptly coordinated with the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Dak Lak Province, local security forces, and border guards to implement a rescue plan.

Despite the rough seas making access difficult, the participating forces made strenuous efforts to deploy professional measures to safely bring the two tourists out of the rocky area. After being rescued, the victims were reassured and quickly transferred to the Medical Center for examination and health monitoring.

As of now, the health condition of the two tourists has stabilized. This serves as a warning to tour groups to pay special attention to safety when swimming in areas with rugged terrain and large waves.
