Mr. Tran Hong Tien, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak, shared that the organization of digital transformation in the field of culture, sports and tourism in the past 6 months has achieved some positive results.
The Department identified this as an important stage, laying the foundation for forming a digital, synchronous, transparent data ecosystem to serve State management, while expanding opportunities to access smart culture and tourism for a large number of people and tourists.
Digitizing heritage, online sports
According to Mr. Tran Hong Tien, in fact, the investment orientation for digital transformation, building a state management data system, serving the professional needs of the cultural sector, especially heritage information and sports activities, was determined by the Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism many years ago.

However, up to now, with the major policy of merging provincial and municipal boundaries and perfecting the management apparatus of departments and branches, the issue of digitalization has really emerged, becoming an inevitable solution to improve management capacity and supervision expertise.
The geographical space spreads from Phu Yen to the border, which is a huge challenge for the grassroots sectors. The Culture, Sports and Tourism sector, with its role of closely following the locality, is even more faced with the need to boldly and resolutely improve the environment and quality of management and supervision, and support organizations and activities down to the commune and ward levels to operate smoothly and effectively.
Without using digital technology as an extension “crane”, those requirements would certainly not be possible.
With that spirit, after only a short time of relocating the area, the local Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with specialized units to digitize documents and artifacts at the Provincial Museum and digitize relic records.
Initially, two typical relics, Buon Ma Thuot Prison and Lac Giao Communal House (Buon Ma Thuot Ward), have both completed digitizing their data. Dak Lak Museum is being upgraded to a “digital museum”, applying 3D technology and virtual reality interaction, so that visitors can explore the museum’s exhibition space through an online environment.
The Department has digitized and basically built a local cultural heritage database system, integrated with the national data platform, towards the requirement of a shared digital data warehouse on heritage, antiquities and museum artifacts of the whole country.
Currently, the Department is focusing on developing a project to promote the cultural heritage digitization program for the 2021 - 2030 period under the direction of the Prime Minister, as a basis for unifying actions in the work of preserving, promoting and educating cultural heritage to be carried out in a more flexible, intuitive and effective manner.
Dak Lak library sector also carried out a strong digital transformation; with the construction of a modern digital library platform, providing services for searching, borrowing and returning books for readers, online document photocopying services and developing additional mobile applications so that people can use library services anytime, anywhere.
Thereby, the provincial library system gradually becomes a data connection network, serving synchronously physical space and cyberspace.
In the field of sports, digitalization is applied online, with camera systems supporting monitoring and tracking of matches, and conditions for investing in digital and online television to serve audiences who watch regularly. In particular, to improve the quality of athletes,
The Department has completed athlete management software, fully updating data on training, nutrition, competition and recovery, helping coaches accurately monitor the training process, thereby improving training efficiency and sports achievements of the province.
Travel in cyberspace
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak, the tourism sector is identified as the door to open opportunities to promote local culture, society and people internationally. Therefore, this is the sector that the Department focuses on promoting digital transformation, requiring the construction of flexible and effective digital platforms.

The province's tourism information website (daktip.vn) has now been standardized and linked with the National Tourism Administration's data system to provide full information on destinations, events, accommodation and dining services in the area.
The province also deployed level 4 public services in the tourism sector, supporting tourists to pay online, choose to book services and provide quality feedback via the 24/7 support number. The Department also established digital communication channels such as Fanpage and YouTube to effectively promote festivals, exhibitions, performances and major cultural events of the province.
Particularly with the spirit of "cultural tourism takes Dak Lak further", Mr. Tran Hong Tien said that he is directing departments to build projects and strategies for information development, digitalizing data and local tourism images on cyberspace; combining businesses and technology groups to build many sightseeing models, introducing the land, heritages and local cultural tourism tours.
Many investment plans and learning from other local creative models, such as agricultural tourism in Quang Nam, tourist passports in Da Nang, etc. are being researched by the Department, to bridge the gap in local understanding and attract and invite tourists to Dak Lak.
“In general, up to now, digitalization in the Dak Lak Culture, Sports and Tourism sector, especially in tourism, has changed positively. Awareness of digital transformation among staff and units has been raised. Digital data has been formed more synchronously. Cultural, heritage and tourism products of Dak Lak and the Central Highlands have begun to appear on cyberspace in a vivid and attractive way.
We identify digital transformation as an opportunity to preserve, promote and spread the cultural values of the land in a sustainable way, bring heritage closer to the public, and turn culture and tourism into a driving force for integration development,” commented Mr. Tran Hong Tien.
