In the formation of the wings, the "wave" soldiers of the 575th Signal Brigade, Military Region 5 are always the first to arrive at key locations. Whether it is a landslide point, the center of a storm or an area isolated by floods, the Signal troops still persevere in staying there, ensuring smooth and stable communication to serve the command and operation of the Commander of the Military Region Command; at the same time, restoring the communication network to help the Party Committee, government and people in isolated areas.
Wearing a raincoat, holding a new generation of portable VSAT equipment, the communication team persistently “captured” the satellite signal. Under the pouring rain, wet equipment, interference areas, umbrellas and tarpaulins were not used because they hindered and affected the quality of signal reception. However, after a short time, the signal was established.
Lieutenant Phan Huy Dat, Platoon Leader of Platoon 20 (Company 9), instructed the troops: “When the device receives a signal, adjusting the azimuth angle, elevation angle and polarization angle is a decisive factor to improve the quality of communication, ensuring stability and efficiency. This is a very important requirement, especially in the mission of independent mobility, disaster response, and search and rescue.”
From the end of October 2025 until now, Lieutenant Colonel Dang Thanh Binh, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Brigade; Captain Vo Thanh Cong, Captain of Company 7 (Battalion 3); Lieutenant Phan Huy Dat and dozens of officers and soldiers of the mobile radio stations, along with VSAT vehicles and VSAT equipment, have been continuously present at hot spots. From the Tra Leng landslide area, the center of storm No. 13 in Dak Lak to Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa... wherever the information network is broken, they are there. The footsteps of the "Five Seven Years" Soldiers are still silent and silent in the most difficult and dangerous places.

Directly commanding the signal reception on the VSAT vehicle, Captain Vo Thanh Cong said: “The device is responsible for ensuring fixed and mobile communication for leaders and commanders at all levels. It is especially effective in remote areas, where there is a loss of signal or limited information infrastructure, providing good voice, data transmission, and television services to ensure timely, accurate, and safe communication.”
In parallel with the central political task, in the places where the unit deployed information, officers and soldiers proactively coordinated with other forces to help people overcome the consequences of storms and floods. During the recent flood, in Dong Hoa ward, Dak Lak province, dozens of officers and soldiers waded in the rain, cleaned up garbage, mud, cleaned facilities, classrooms, and schoolyards, helping schools to soon stabilize teaching and learning activities.
Lieutenant Colonel Dang Thanh Binh shared: “There are places where floods and landslides have cut off access to the area, completely destroying the road to the area. We closely coordinate with friendly units, especially the road clearing force. Wherever the route is opened, we will move there, regardless of time and weather to promptly restore the information network to serve the command and operation of the Military Region 5 Command and meet the requirements of the government and people.”
With a sense of responsibility and affection for the people, the “waves” of Brigade 575 are a bridge of trust between the Party Committee, the government and the people, worthy of the title “Uncle Ho’s soldiers”. In the most dangerous and difficult moments, they are always the first to arrive.
