Ensuring coal for electricity production; tycoon escapes bankruptcy

- Ministry of Industry and Trade directs sufficient coal for electricity production in 2024

The Ministry of Industry and Trade requires Vietnam Electricity (EVN), Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV); investors of coal-fired thermal power plants to implement solutions to operate coal-fired thermal power plants and hydropower sources to ensure electricity supply in the last months of 2023 and 2024. In particular, for coal-fired thermal power, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requires EVN, PVN, TKV and power generation units to direct coal-fired thermal power plants under their management to implement "technical solutions to improve the ability to operate at maximum available capacity of the generator" when there is a need to mobilize the national power system in the last months of 2023 and 2024, especially during the peak of the dry season; prepare coal fuel to ensure electricity production in 2024 (according to Thanh Nien).

- Clearing up the hidden corners of gasoline retail: Attaching responsibility to tax department leaders

- Corporate bonds increase by hundreds of thousands of billions, Ministry of Finance recommends

According to the Ministry of Finance, in the first 10 months of the year, 70 enterprises issued corporate bonds with a volume of 180.4 trillion VND. The volume of early repurchase was 190.7 trillion VND. Bank interest rates today, November 16, recorded two more banks in the high-interest savings group sharply reducing deposit interest rates, bringing the total number of banks that have reduced interest rates since the beginning of November to 24.
