At VNPT Lao Cai's infrastructure center, a nearly 100-meter-tall transmission tower is being meticulously inspected and reviewed by technical staff. Each technical aspect is carried out according to strict procedures, from checking signals and power supply to the transmission equipment system. Each person is responsible for a different task, but all share the common goal of ensuring the communication system operates safely and smoothly, preventing interruptions during the Tet holiday and the election period.

Mr. Pham Quoc Viet, Head of the Yen Bai Infrastructure Team at the VNPT Lao Cai Infrastructure Center, stated: “The unit has developed a specific plan, clearly assigning tasks to each officer and technician. At the same time, we encourage employees to uphold a high sense of responsibility and be ready to respond promptly to any arising situations.”
Along with inspecting and maintaining existing infrastructure, VNPT Lao Cai proactively deployed mobile 4G and 5G base stations to expand coverage, increase capacity, and improve service quality, meeting the communication and internet access needs of the people during peak periods. At the same time, it focused on ensuring the dedicated data transmission system serving the election process. Currently, the entire province of Lao Cai has 2,273 VNPT mobile stations in operation. These include 162 2G stations; 1,046 3G stations; 1,022 4G stations; and 43 5G stations. This creates an important foundation for providing telecommunications and information technology services to serve social life as well as the management and operation of all levels and sectors.
Mr. Tran Ky Anh, Deputy Director of VNPT Lao Cai, stated: “VNPT Lao Cai has closely coordinated with the Provincial Election Committee, the Department of Science and Technology, and the People's Committees of communes and wards in deploying the transmission lines to serve the election software system. At the same time, we have assigned staff to be in charge of each area, ready to be on duty and promptly handle any incidents that arise, ensuring that the technical systems operate stably, safely, and smoothly throughout the election process.”

Along with VNPT Lao Cai, other departments, agencies, and telecommunications businesses in the province are also actively coordinating to support communes and wards in connecting, logging in, and using software for election purposes. In addition, to ensure smooth communication, local authorities and telecommunications agencies are proactively reviewing and addressing signal blind spots, especially in remote, isolated, and particularly disadvantaged areas.

Mr. Giàng A Súa – Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hạnh Phúc commune shared: “Due to the complex terrain, there are still many areas in the commune where telecommunication signals are unstable. Given this reality, the local authorities have submitted a request to higher levels for consideration and guidance on remediation. We understand that the province has directed major network providers such as Vinaphone and Viettel to cooperate in implementing solutions to gradually reduce and eliminate signal blind spots, creating favorable conditions for people to access telecommunication services and participate in election-related activities.”
The efforts of telecommunications companies in recent times have yielded clear and positive results, which have been recognized by the people. Ms. Do Thi Vuong, from Dong Tam 1 residential group, Yen Bai ward, happily shared: “Telephone, television, and internet services are increasingly stable and meet the needs of my family. When problems occur, we just need to contact them and we receive timely support, creating peace of mind while using the services.”

Thanks to the proactive and coordinated efforts of relevant agencies, local authorities, and telecommunications businesses, the work of ensuring safe and uninterrupted communication in Lao Cai province is being implemented effectively. This is not only an important condition for the people to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse safely and warmly, but also contributes to ensuring the successful conduct of the elections for the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
