The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced a series of attacks on airports in Iraq and Syria, where many US soldiers are stationed.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI) announced today that it had deployed drones to attack al-Harir air base in the northern province of Erbil. "This is a move to continue to resist the US occupation of Iraq and the region, as well as to respond to the Israeli campaign of massacres in the Gaza Strip," the IRI statement said.
Al Jazeera news agency previously reported that pro-Tehran militia groups also launched missile attacks on the al-Tanf base in Syria.

The series of attacks came hours after the US launched a large-scale airstrike on 85 targets in Iraq and Syria, in retaliation for an attack on a base in Jordan that killed three US soldiers and wounded 34 last week.
US officials have not commented on the information.
IRI is a coalition of pro-Iranian militias that has carried out more than 150 attacks on US military facilities and units in Iraq and Syria in the past three months, since the war in the Gaza Strip began.
Al-Harir is home to many modern aircraft of the US Army and Air Force Special Operations Command.
The US-built base at al-Tanf is considered a key strategic location for the US to gain influence in the region because it is located near the border tri-junction between Syria, Jordan and Iraq. It is also the only significant US military presence in Syria outside the northern region controlled by Kurdish forces.
