Spend 68 billion VND to take care of meritorious people and social security during Tet

(Dan Tri) - Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued a plan to ensure policies for people with revolutionary contributions and social security during the Lunar New Year 2025.

In order to ensure the spiritual and material life of people with revolutionary contributions, poor households, near-poor households, social subjects and children in especially difficult circumstances, Nghe An province has issued a plan to take care of the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025.

The activities not only help people enjoy Tet and welcome spring but also contribute to maintaining security and socio- politics of the province.

Units and localities in the province will organize visits and present Tet gifts to people with revolutionary contributions and social beneficiaries. The total estimated budget for this activity is 68 billion VND.

Specifically,the President ’s gifts will be given to 79,911 people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs. Provincial leaders also visited and presented gifts to 64,846 elderly people and 58,642 others during Tet.

To support families lacking food, the province plans to submit to the Government rice support for 15,197 households, equivalent to 63,937 people in 8 districts lacking food during Tet.

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee requested to organize diverse and practical activities imbued with national cultural traditions and the morality of remembering the source of water when drinking. Relevant levels, sectors and organizations need to develop detailed plans, seriously implement and mobilize resources to ensure social security.

Preferential subsidies, social assistance policies, money and Tet gifts must be implemented correctly, sufficiently and promptly to the beneficiaries.

The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs is assigned to advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue documents directing implementation, organize provincial leadership delegations to visit and encourage units, families of outstanding meritorious people, outstanding elderly people and poor households with especially difficult circumstances.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested the National Reserve Department to guide districts in receiving and distributing rice for famine relief when there is a decision to provide rice by the Prime Minister.

Units such as Finance, Provincial State Treasury, Provincial Labor Federation and Provincial Social Insurance, together with relevant Departments, branches and sectors, are assigned to proactively call for, organize visits and give gifts to related subjects in the spirit of socialization.

Nghe An Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to coordinate with all levels and sectors to mobilize businesses, organizations and individuals to support gratitude activities, build a Fund for the poor and assist social beneficiaries.

Districts, cities and towns are responsible for developing detailed plans, assigning specific responsibilities and proactively balancing the budget to give gifts to beneficiaries in the area.
