According to data from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year will take place on June 1-2 with 151,254 students registered to take the exam. Based on this data, the Department of Education and Training has organized 242 exam centers for the 10th grade entrance exam, including 16 centers for specialized subjects and integrated English.
Here is a detailed list of the 10th grade exam locations in the three regions:
Candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year will take three subjects: Mathematics, Literature (120 minutes per subject), and Foreign Language (90 minutes) if applying to a regular 10th grade class, and a specialized or integrated subject exam if applying to a specialized or integrated 10th grade class.
On October 22, 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the structure of the 10th grade entrance exam, assessment requirements, and competency and thinking level tables for the 2026-2027 10th grade entrance exam in Literature, Mathematics, and English to all junior high schools to prepare 9th grade students for the 2026 10th grade entrance exam.
Regarding the first 10th grade entrance exam after the merger, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, noted that educational institutions in Zone 1 (formerly Ho Chi Minh City) should continue to strictly implement the 10th grade enrollment process. Educational institutions in Zone 2 (formerly Binh Duong) and Zone 3 (formerly Ba Ria – Vung Tau province) need to be aware that the 2026-2027 10th grade enrollment will have some changes compared to previous regulations. Therefore, it is necessary to organize meetings and fully disseminate the Department's guidelines to all teachers in order to provide accurate advice to junior high school students. Absolutely no answers should be given based on personal opinions, to avoid causing confusion and anxiety among parents and students.
The Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training emphasized that high schools are responsible for fully and accurately updating their information on the city's 10th grade enrollment system at ts10.hcm.edu.vn , ensuring that parents and students can access complete information throughout the enrollment period. It is particularly important to note that only students whose names are on the list on the ts10.hcm.edu.vn system managed by the Department of Education and Training will be accepted; under no circumstances will students not on the list be accepted.
