Recently, atFPT University in Ho Chi Minh City, the event "Workshop and Exhibition Space of Phu Gia Conical Hats" took place, attracting a large number of attendees.
The event “Workshop and Exhibition Space of Phu Gia Horse Hats” offers an opportunity for viewers to listen to artisans share about the process of making horse hats, learn about the cultural and historical values of this heritage, and experience many interactive activities and games revolving around the symbol associated with the heroic Tay Son army.
Having been passed down the craft from his family and having been involved in the craft for over 61 years, artisan Do Van Lan has devoted all his heart and soul to Phu Gia horse hats. According to him: “In the past, horse hats were an item that accompanied Tay Son soldiers on every march, protecting them from the sun and rain and associated with many glorious victories. Our ancestors have worked hard to preserve and teach the craft for generations, so the next generations like us have the responsibility to continue so that this legacy will not be lost.”

The heart of the project is the event “Workshop & Exhibition Space of Phu Gia Horse Hats”. This is where theory is realized into emotions. Here, young people are not just passive spectators. They are transformed into “apprentice artisans”, practicing a step of making hats with their own hands under the dedicated guidance of artisans who have devoted their lives to the profession. In addition to the exchange and listening to artisans talk about the process of making hats, the event organizers also arranged many interactive game areas such as a carousel, a puzzle area, a photo booth... to help participants understand more about the history and structure of Phu Gia horse hats. After completing the challenge in each area, players also have the opportunity to receive gifts at the end of the program.

Associated with the heroic historical mark of the Tay Son army, Phu Gia horse hat is not simply an object but a cultural symbol containing the martial spirit of Binh Dinh land. From the ancient royal court to modern life today, the hat still holds a special position in traditional ceremonies and is increasingly sought after by tourists to experience and preserve as a part of the traditional cultural memory of Vietnam.
What makes this campaign different is meeting young people at their own “playground”: social networks. Applying multi-platform storytelling on Facebook, TikTok through short clips, creative competitions, mini games and heritage storytelling videos will ensure the message is widely spread, continuously and attractively. With the goal of attracting 350 direct participants and a profound media effect on social networks, the project is expected to create a strong wave of community spread./.
