Peach blossoms bursting with vibrant red to welcome Tet (Lunar New Year) can fetch prices up to several hundred million dong.

(VTC News) - A series of imported red winter cherry blossom trees, priced from a few million to 300 million VND, are being displayed for sale in Hanoi as Tet approaches, attracting the attention of the public.

In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, many pots of vibrant red winter cherry blossoms are being sold in Hanoi , attracting the attention of the capital's residents. The price of these trees ranges from a few million dong to about 300 million dong per pot, depending on size and styling.

This isn't the first time the winter cherry blossom tree has appeared on the Hanoi market. However, due to its unusual appearance and limited quantity, this type of tree quickly sells out. Some customers even placed orders online in advance to reserve their spot.

According to the shops, the winter cherry trees are imported whole, mainly from the Netherlands and China, and then transported to Vietnam to serve the Tet market.

Because it is an imported product, the high transportation and storage costs directly affect the selling price of red winter cherry.

The most striking feature of the winter cherry blossom is its vibrant red blossoms covering the branches. According to feng shui beliefs, red symbolizes good fortune and wealth, so many people choose to buy this flower to decorate their homes at the beginning of the year.

After being imported, the trees are cared for, pruned, and shaped into unique designs by skilled craftsmen. Some pots are decorated with miniature rural scenes or placed on driftwood, creating one-of-a-kind pieces.

According to the store manager, with proper care, winter cherry blossoms can be displayed for about 5-6 months.

Two bonsai peach blossom trees, priced at around 150 million VND, have already been reserved by customers. The shop owner said these models are large in size and elaborately shaped, hence the higher price compared to the average.

Among the items on display, a peach tree stump placed on driftwood is being offered for 300 million VND.

Additionally, there's another potted plant priced at 157 million VND and an elaborately decorated model offered at around 250 million VND. According to the seller, the price depends on the length of the branches, the thickness of the foliage, and the level of detail in the miniature landscape.

Besides large pots, the store also offers smaller ones, priced from a few million to tens of millions of VND, to cater to the general customer base.
