Along Lac Long Quan street (Tay Ho district, Hanoi ), the Tet atmosphere is already everywhere with a variety of flowers and ornamental plants for the Lunar New Year such as peach blossoms, kumquats, apricot blossoms, etc. Among them, the seven-petal peach blossom stands out as a unique touch with its rare antique beauty that few other Tet flowers possess.

According to reports, the price of dwarf peach blossom trees this year ranges from around 10 million VND for small, simply shaped trees. Ancient trees with unique and unusual shapes can fetch prices up to hundreds of millions of VND.

In particular, a rare pair of seven-petal peach blossom trees, offered for sale at a price of up to 800 million VND, quickly became the focus of attention among flower enthusiasts in Hanoi during Tet.

Thất Thốn peach blossoms are one of the rare and exclusive varieties, appealing only to discerning collectors. Unlike regular peach blossoms that only bloom on young branches, many Thất Thốn peach trees have flowers that sprout directly from the trunk and base. This unique characteristic gives them a distinct aesthetic value, making them a favorite among flower connoisseurs every spring.

Most of the dwarf peach trees on the market originate from northern mountainous provinces such as Son La and Lao Cai . These trees grow on rocky mountains, withstand harsh weather conditions, and can live for decades.

Over time, the trunk has become rough and covered in moss. Its natural shape is unique and unlike any other peach tree.

According to Mr. Hoang Van Khac (Moc Chau, Son La ), the owner of a dwarf peach blossom garden, this year's favorable weather has helped the trees grow well and bloom just in time for Tet.

"The highest rental price at the garden is around 200 million VND per tree, while the more common types range from 20-35 million VND per tree. Even the cheapest trees cost a few million VND, but many customers still rent them, mostly regulars who have been cultivating dwarf peach trees for many years," Mr. Khac said.

At the flower stalls, Mr. Khac introduced two dwarf peach blossom trees planted on driftwood, considered "rare items," with the highest selling price reaching 400 million VND per tree, and a rental price of 200 million VND per pot.
For enthusiasts, the dwarf peach tree is appealing not only for its shape and form but also for the way it blossoms and sprouts new shoots from its roots and trunk. Many believe that owning a dwarf peach tree that blooms precisely during the Lunar New Year is not only about appreciating the unique beauty of nature, but also a way to bring good fortune, wealth, and assert one's status in the new year.

The seven-petal peach blossom, with its large, deep-colored, and thick petals, is a favorite among Hanoi residents every Tet holiday.

Mr. Nam, a customer buying peach blossom trees, shared: "Every year I have to come here to find a beautiful seven-petal peach blossom tree to decorate for Tet. Last year I bought a small tree for about 5 million VND, this year, there are so many beautiful trees that I'm still hesitating about which one to choose," Mr. Nam shared.
